Smok MAG 225W battery issue . . . Help me out

New here but not new to vaping.

I have a number of modes but I recently purchased a Smok MAG. All has been well until a few days ago. It started draining one battery . . and fast too. Like within hours one battery is down to nothing. I have tried various batteries and it still does the same thing.

I purchased it on the bay and the sellers return policy has lapsed. I will be contacting Smok this week. Is there something I should check prior to talking with them??

Thanks in advance.

I would check the battery first. Try another set of known authentic and matched batteries.

You bought a SMOK mod on ebay???

did you buy the batteries on ebay too?
I would never buy batteries on ebay, but if I find a top rated seller with thousands of transactions and a 99 plus percent satisfaction rating from the buyers, I would buy hardware from them.

IMO you should never buy any vape stuff on ebay.

Maybe battery wraps or coils/wire, but that's about it

unless the mfgr has an Ebay store...

Well that's what I mean. There are sellers there with 10, 15 or 20 thousand transactions, a 99.6% satisfaction rating and a parade of buyers, some of them quite knowledgeable, declaring the products legit and new. Even from China sometimes. Usually with free shipping even from China sometimes.

What would be the problem with buying from them? Batteries are a different thing altogether for all the reasons I'm sure you know.

I wouldn't buy equipment for the same exact reasons I wouldn't buy batteries from Ebay.

Fair enough.

I certainly wouldn't presume to tell somebody how to spend their money? :)

I did and I know what it means. My "fair enough" was intended to be my recognizing that. I apologize if it sounded any other way.

The seller was a reputable US dealer. I didn't buy the batteries on eBay. I believe the are 18650 brown Samsungs. I have used them for many years with no problems.

It is not a battery problem. I have a dozen batteries and have tried them all with the same result. It worked for over a month with NO issues until this past weekend. I don't want to open up the mode just in case it is a valid warranty issue.

I thought I had a number for Smok in NJ but can't seem to find it online now. I am going to email them in hopes of getting SOME response.

I was not trying to start a flame war on batteries. Please help me out with a number if there is support here in the states.

I believe you were looking for the LG HG2's there.

I have used <these batteries> for many years with no problems.
Many years might be a problem actually. :)

I have a dozen batteries and have tried them all with the same result.
Were they matched sets, used and charged together as pairs, only the same ones with each other? Don't take this the wrong way friend, but I still wouldn't totally rule out batteries.

Please help me out with a number if there is support here in the states.
I have never had to deal with something like this. Maybe somebody else knows.

I bought LG HG2s from a reputable eBay seller and they’re fine. I think I’ll buy Sony VCT5s next though, the HG2S are fine for sub 100W vaping but drain fast at higher wattages

I have an update.

Smok was absolute NO help!!! They gave me the runaround. First I had to do a self diagnosis on their site to no avail. Then email in my request to speak to a tech for help with the best time for them to call. Got an email back stating they had tried numerous times to call and they were closing my request!!! WTF

I am a bit of an electronics freak so I took to it myself. No problem getting it apart and cleaning it up a bit. Turns out there was a short in a very small wire leading to the battery chamber. Don't know why it was causing only one battery to drain but after a small dab of solder it is back to normal.

I have 2 Smok mods (OSub 220) now and one Smok stick. Don't know if I will purchase any of their products again tho. Their CS was a big disappointment!!!
