Lannie and I took Zipper (the doberman) back up to the vet in Hettinger, North Dakota for follow-up blood test and an hour-long consult with a different doc. The drive is about 160 miles round trip and we are both extremely tired (hey, we're really oldt). The dog's condition is better, but not perfect. Whatever Lannie is doing with the food is what has made this improvement, but we still have a bit of research (herbs and vitamins we can safely use) and will probably get her another blood test come Spring.

Got about 2.5 inches of snow last night.
Shoveled the walk and wheelchair ramp.
Then it started raining and most of the snow is gone now.

I figure Jimi got covered up though and much of areas north of KY.

Drat will not get out of taking wife to church tomorrow....

Maybe it will freeze overnight and too much ice to drive safely? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :teehee:

Ya gotta love the lousy weather forecasts... supposed to have some little bit of morning fog, burning off before noon, high around freezing mark. Reality: Freezing fog (depositing rime icing - everything is getting a thick white ice coating) ALL damn day (still out there) with visibility around 100 feet and high temp around 22. At least we didn't have to put up with Jimi's snow, but that is due back here next week.

Lettuce doesn't have much nutrients, carrots are the cheapest and toss in some of your garden sweet potatoes

Assume not much was happening on the homestead today, Rich
Just a bunch of little stuff. We picked up some medicine for the cow's cut teats while at the vet for the dobie yesterday, so Lannie is fixing the milker. I emptied all the trash in the house, took shitty litter to the pit, filled the chicken bin, filtered the layer feed and filled the feed bag for the inside chicken, stuffed capsules of dandelion root powder and milk thistle seed powder... ya know, lots of little stuff but nothing of great importance.

You must have some super strong taste buds, have you tried either yet, pretty pungent.:giggle: I use onion and garlic and red cabbage in my juice every day but along with carrots celery which kinda dilutes the onion garlic

I think I said this about the time this thread got started, but it is worth repeating: If we lived in ancient times, Lannie would have the title "Village Wise Woman" or "Medicine Woman" (depends on time frame and culture). My point is, she can fix damn near anything in people or animals and if she can't, she'll research and study it until she can.

That's the kind of women most men can only dream of.

2nd, it's also my 3rd vapersary
3rd and BIGGEST: I BECAME A GRANDMA TODAY - my eldest gave birth a month early, but the baby is fine. A boy, his name is Fox (I know, I know, at least they didn't spell it weird)
4th: my grandson has my birthday, lol
