Really need help!

After 2 years of cig-free vaping (bliss), I caught a weird cold almost 3 monts ago. Ever since then, I literally cannot vape one puff. Suddenly it is too hot for my throat, inducing violent coughing. I even went down to 6 watts but still...I just can't bare it!

Needless to say, I am back to cancer sticks and feeling real shitty about it. The strange thing here is that smoking does not hurt my throat as vaping now does!

Could it be an allergy onset? A severe throat irritation?
Don't know. But I'm out of my wits. Did anyone else experience this?

BTW, I MTL, and have DIYing for a year now.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I had that happen when I had a cold this winter. I'm already vaping 80/20 VG/PG DIY, so not too much to do there.
If you vape a high PG juice, that could be irritating.

I found vaping a menthol/minty type juice or just less sweet seemed to help as well as just vaping less. Drinking lots of water is a must for vaping in general IMO, but especially if you're dehydrated from a cold or flu.

Have you seen a doc?
If you have bronchitis/strep throat or something then that would not be good.
Smoking just coats everything with tar and shit, so yeah...but it'd be more harmful.

I suggest you ask your Physician or an ENT Specialist instead of using the Forum as a Diagnostician. Good Luck

Did you try vaping straight vg with nic?

Happened, then second one disappeared

What I meant to say was, that some people, like myself, have bad reactions if we vape too much VG

Caff mentioned PG as a possible culprit, but a number of us have a sensitivity to VG

Yeah, good luck trying to explain that to an Egyptian physician. You're either gonna get "What's vaping?" or "So why not quit both?"

I haven't Letitia. I've been real happy with a 70/30 vg/pg for such a long time it's just driving me nuts.
I was fine using juices with pg for my first couple years of vaping and then suddenly I wasn't as tolerant to it. Maybe try the vg and nic only to eliminate pg is the culprit. Then try nic free. Process of elimination is tedious but provides useful info and well worth the effort. Some have issues with ni80 due to the nickel. Of course still make that doctors appointment as well. It's up to you to find a solution if you don't want to smoke.
