DNA 40 build help plz

I have everything ordered for my DNA 40d build, other than the fire switch. I am wanting to use an LED fire button but not sure if it will work or how to wire it without hurting the chip. Also is it possible to go with 3 18650s instead of two? Looking for the longest lasting setup I can build possible.

I highly recommend a fatdaddyvapes 510. Both boxes in the above videos have them. Also, you can put as many batteries in parallel as you want. The voltage will stay the same as a single battery.

If you wire the led to the battery it will b on all the time

If the positiveside of the led is directly to the hot and neg to neg, it would be on as soon as it's hooked up right? No different than taking a plan old led and stick in each lead to a battery. Unless the switch has its own circuit just for the led

The only way I thought it would work is to runthe led leads and the actual switch leads together to the bored but Idk how the board would react to that

The switch has circuitry I'm almost positive a resistor is needed which is in the button. The led will only light up once the button is pushed completing the circuit internally.

Ya iv seen switches like that, I don't believe this one is tho, do to the pictures. They have a hot and ground source connected to the led pins and the light is illuminated without the button being pushed.

Ya I love the fatdaddyvapes 510s. I'll definitely be using that. I still have a few left over. I'm goin to try fitting 3 18650s in a hammond 1590b with the usual DNA 40 internals. Gonna be one hell of a tight fit lol

There might be more than one way to wire it. Always on, on during button push only. Hard to say without seeing a schematic.

Thank you. That looks like it's a little over kill tho. I'm not worried about hurting the switch it's a 12v led the DNA 40 is far from that, my main concern is damaging the $60 chip. My plan was to just run a jumper wire from the + led pin to the the +pin on the switch that connects to the 510. I'll just run the - led pin to one of the grounds on the board or the the 510 ground. This would make the led come on when the mod is fired but Idk if it will hurt the chip.

In post #5 I just used the transistor and a 10K resistor so it would light only when the button was pushed.
