Hi, VU.
Been vaping since 2018, first mod was a Target Mini paired with a Smok Baby Beast. But it worked!
Have slipped back into cigarettes only once, which was pretty stupid.
Recently, I've got into RDAs (Drop Dead rda, running a single at .5 ish) and it is such a difference from using sub-ohm tanks (have some Uforce2 tanks and a couple Firelukes).

Best.
Matthew

Welcome aboard. :) Are you dripping with the RDAs? I ask because I squonk. If you'd like information on squonking me or @JuicyLucy are good ones to ask. There's others as well, @Train could bend your ear for one. :)

Just dripping for now, but have read a bit about squonking.
What was the main draw that brought you to squonking? Just the ease of not having to drip?
I just picked up a new mod (Aegis Legend, needed something durable), so taking the dip to squonking may be a few months out.

Welcome to VU!
:vu:

I got into squonkers at first so that I wont have to drip and drive.
Most squonk bottles hold around 8ml of juice, some now hold more. Either way, 8ml of juice with a single coil rda will last me most of the day. So I can run out the house without having to bring extra juice. My all day device is a 21700 mech squonkers with a single coil rda. That battery and the 8.5ml bottle will last me an entire workday and then some. Not having to worry about spare juice or battery makes it a no brainers for me.
If you like regulated mods like the topside have 10ml juice bottles, so even better for an all day convenience vape.

For me that was one of the main points. The other was finding squonk mods having 10 ml bottles, 7 or 8 ml being the smaller ones. Yes they get smaller but I try staying over a 5 ml bottle.

Yeah, and my Topside Lite is kind of growing on me despite my liking mechanical mods. I don't use TC but wattage does okay. :)

Likewise. I keep mine around for when I know I'll be gone for an extended period: otherwise I stick with my mech squonkers.

That is the exact same set up my wife loved so much before her Target Mini started auto-firing. She has moved on to a CoV Tempest with an og Valarian tank. I know big difference huh? But she is chucking some very flavorfull clouds and completely smoke free! She had doubts about vaping but she proved herself wrong.

Welcome to VU!

Squonking is dripping from the bottom... :giggle: 95% of my vaping is on various squonks. No dripping and driving for me, just give it a squonk...

I would never be able to drip while driving!
Hahahahaha, oh man.
When I smoked, I could never smoke while driving. Heck, I can't even drink a coffee while driving!
I should probably look into it now that summer is here. The dovpo topside comes up a lot, any other regulated squonk mods I should read up on?

You do? What? *grin*

Ya do, eh? Right, ... ?

No, ye kin nae spill me rum, boyo. Be a strung up offense that. *chuckles* Spill the swill all ya want though.

There are indeed though I for one can not tell you a good listing of them. *chuckles* Let me do that in mock Scot for you.

"I dinae know wot ye askin' we dun tell ye de "bestest."

And actually I'm only saying it is "best" as a joke. I know there are others that are likely far better. I don't keep abreast of regulated squonkers though. Bought the Topside as a "one off" because it looked "a good idea". Eh, it's so so for me. Tried to PIF it but no one wanted it. So, I'm using it.

@KingPin! was "saying" .... something/sumpin'. Maybe he know? *grin*

Topsides are among the best affordable squonkers atm. Some people have issues with juice leaking into the board though. I currently own 3, one is over a year old and no leaking for me. Another good squonker (though not a top fill) is the Vandy Vape Pulse 80w or 90w which is about 1/2 the price of a Topside. Hella deal here: https://www.wetvapes.com/vandy-vape-pulse-bf-80w-box-mod-carbon-fiber-version.html

Welcome aboard btw!

Well, here's a quick run down of some regulated squonkers.

Topside Dual 200W Squonk Mod

Wotofo Dyadic Squonk Mod

Geekvape Aegis 100w Squonk Mod

VandyVape Pulse X 90W Mod

HCigar Aurora 80W TC Squonk Box Mod

As I said, don't use regulated devices much. I prefer the mechanical mods for the sake of simplicity. Using a mechanical device saves having to worry about a "board" shorting, juice getting to the board or any number of electronics faults, errors that would make the device non-functional.

Some could argue that electronics are used for the purpose of safety. I can comprehend and respect that point of view. That does not mean I need to accept, or agree to it. If one uses them properly and with a level of caution, respect mechanical devices can be fairly safe too.

Hope you can find a regulated device to suit your needs if that's what you desire. :) I care that you vape but don't care how you choose doing so as long as you're safe, responsible. How you choose to vape that suits you is your best / right way to vape.

I admire the simplicity and the design of mechanical mods. But I'm a cautious fellow, and I feel using a mech would only require one mistake/assumption on my part to have a day-ruiner of a time.

And it is good you're aware of those limitations. Today, I took time and built a 0.22 ohm coil on a mechanical. Now, I'm "watching" it carefully so it doesn't go awry. What I'm "looking" for is the mod itself getting warm. If that starts I set the mod aside, let it cool, take out the battery. I'll then, pull the build out of the RDA. Later on I might try a different higher ohm rated coil, say about 0.30 or above. I was half aiming for that , missed it by a wrap of the coil.

Definitely DO NOT USE Mechanical mods if you feel uncomfortable doing so. And hopefully no one thinks I am pushing anyone to do so. I most assuredly am not.

If you want to learn mechanical mods I would suggest a semi-mechanical first like a Luxotic by Wismec. It still has a safety MOSFET to help keep you from blowing up. ;) :) And I know I may seem a bit cheek about that, but I am not doing so to beguile. I'm doing so because all the safety you can imagine won't keep it from happening if it is going to happen. So, a bit of levity is needed as well as the caution. :)

I am a newbie here...

Yeah, I was new once too. :) Welcome aboard. :) If you need any help I'm sure @The Cromwell can get you going, even no accounts like @f1r3b1rd & @KingPin! can help too. ;) :) Don't ask me though. I'm the man with no plan. I like it that way. Had I plan I'd be a liability. If I was liable, I'd be dead. *chuckles*

I used to be exactly like that too nothing wrong in it , to be honest I love mechs but most of the time I’m using regulated too :) Just less hassle (no weekly strip cleans etc)

I am with you there buddy. I only use regulated devices for that reason. Welcome to the VU.
