So I went crazy...

Added this to the shell

61db45ff329ae9b3edc0ab1b16a14e45.jpg

Wicked fine being my mech tube build...

3.27.37 N80... came out to .20

fbff85f594e3ad74cd28437253c110b6.jpg

Had to run it at 36w and it was great... BUT!

It was 6mg and I soon started getting loopy... yanked it out... put a simple 26g build back in.

Mod doesn’t like beefy coils, would get warm... where simple wire and mod never exhibits that.

But it was a nice vape... no dry hits even straight vaping it for a minute. Sucked down half a tank in one minute of chain vaping lol

Might build a micro fused Clapton... like 2.30/32.40

Anyhoo back to your regularly scheduled shenanigans

My standard build in all of my VapeSnails is a 7 wrap 3.0mm 2.28/40 fused Clapton at about 0.48 ohms in SS316L . I run them on TC with a 60W boost for 0.6 sec. and 38W at about 420F.

Hey guys...just got myself an original vapesnail. I have a problem with the resistance though. When I put the deck on another mod (a DNA 200 mod), with or without the tank section, the resistance is stable. When I move to the BB it falls drastically ( as in from 1 ohm to 0.01). All my other bridges are fine with the BB. Just the vapesnail is having this problem.

Could it be the positive pin? I think that’s the only thing that changes when I put the snail in the BB.

One thing with the snail that can toss things out of whack is the leads of the coil...they do need to be trimmed back and not cut flush... the rectangular chimney can hit a itsy bit of wire and cause shorting.

You wouldn’t see this pulsing and glowing the coil since the rectangular section isn’t on.

Good luck!

Additionally if you use a hybrid tip, some have been reported to not make proper connection...

Think Shady commented about some he got previously that had a connection issue.

The coil in the picture is a 2.5mm 4/5 wrap N80 Alien...

Tomorrow I’ll fuss making a 2.30.40 fused or a 3.30 or 3.32 Aliens...

I truly don’t mind the vape I get from plain 24g or plain 26g, the only difference to my weak pallet is the amount of fullness and vapor production... juice still tastes the same.

Which if anyone has had Red Pill... it’s rather in your face menthol/mint elderberry . Totally not my normal wheel house vape... but couple rips and my ADV tastes great again

Yes! It’s working fine now. It was one of the leads all tight. But it was really a microscopic part that protruded. Must change my glasses it seems.

Awesome!

If the Snail has a downside, it’s that aspect with coils.

If I flush cut the wire, I try to push the wire to the side... one can if using plain wire also wrap it back inward around the screw head and trim on the inside of the deck.

But that adds a small amount of resistance, and those like me that look for that +- 0.02 and see it higher, makes me think something is wrong... BUT BBS read 0.04 different than on a mod with a dedicated 510 connection.

When I use round builds I just wiggle the lead til it snaps. Breaks right at the screw head every time. Claptons and such not so much.

This is your first one?

I had a couple Bantams in the past.
I sold them because - I'll just say it - I don't like Boros. No matter how much I fiddled with them, I found the glass hard to slide open, the gaskets finicky, etc.

When I saw the Vapesnail it almost tipped me back to BB/Bantams again but not quite.
Then the frosted hit - and that's all she wrote. I received the one pictured above, but still waiting on a second one and two Snails.

I really hope I like the Snail or this will be a really expensive lesson in not impulse buying - lol.

The BB is working fine with the Kanger RBA for now.

I had to bend the negative spring down - it was way too tight to get a battery in.
Also - it won't make connection with any of my batteries because it's so wide that it only makes contact with the battery wrap. I have a folded-up piece of aluminum foil stuffed in there to make it work right now. I'll have to re-wrap some batteries with wider negative openings.

The only other issue is I get a very slight rocking on one the the covers - but it's barely noticeable. I've got some really beautiful stab wood panels coming from the Ukraine that I'm dying to see in person.

The cool thing about this BB is you can easily your juice level from the side (assuming you use a clear Boro) - so using opaque panels doesn't limit that.

don't suppose anyone has 2 x abalone/paua 510 or BB thread drip tips that they'd like to sell?

Can you please send me a PM, if you are willing to sell it to me in Australia? Cheapest post option is fine. No rush for it.

PayPal ready

I have a black BMM integrated tip, but shipping alone costs more than the tip did.

2cff3a11a558231fe9468cba9ce2babd.plist

Just all black...

Was lazy to walk to the room

Honestly took me longer to find the website, screen shot and circle it than it would of just to walk to the room lol

Works fine, used for about 5 mins.

There were things I was impressed about it though... walks in the threads more than factory nut, doesn’t have the Oring, wasn’t as tall as I hoped.

Well then, misunderstood the question.

Back into the drawer... wasn’t going to sell it but give it to you... just pay shipping

Looked at shipping and as I mentioned it’s nearly $20... tip only cost $20

@gsmit1 , care to shed some light on changing a Bridg'd AF pin. I am not getting it at all?
Oh boy it's been a little while now and I only had to do it once.

There's a larger cylindrical barrel type insert that screws in from underneath and holds the positive post in the deck. The smaller mtl inserts push into that. In other words you have to have that one in first before the smaller inserts have anywhere to be installed.

I hope that made sense.

Indeed... it’s not my main vape... mechs are... but I use a tank every two days.

Really use it when we go out and about, and to vape a different flavor than Gypsy’s HCC.

Have a flush nut coming from the UK, and those drip tips still stuck in Compton lol.

Running a plain 24g coil in the Snail now; have a ton of coils I premade, and I have two left to try... thus far best vape has been Aliens, but best overall has been regular 27/37 N80 Clapton... great vape and good ramp up.

It'll be quite fidgety until you get a grip on it and then still a bit fidgety once you do, but too bad. Do you have an authentic or an SXK?

SXK. It looks to me the very most inner cylinder is what whould come out?

But these are what I got, and they are too big to go in, and not big enough to replace the entire thing?

Yes oops. These screw in. I got the Snail at the same time and had them reversed in my head.

There's a combination between the larger and smaller ones that works. Find whatever one the mtl pin you want to use will screw into. Maybe some of the mtl pins match with different of the larger ones. Like I say I only set it up once from scratch. This is one that had me pulling my hair out at first, but then wasn't too bad after that.

I got it, thanks. It was where I figured it had to come unscrewed, but damn, they had that bugger in there!! So I got that ready, got the shell all cleaned up. Brought an entire bag of stuff to build both of them and.............. I forgot wire :cuss2::headbang::gaah:

How's it going with that Bridg'd?
I'm only about 1/3 of a boro through it and the Snail, going back and forth. I have no complaints about either vapewise. Both wicking great with great flavor and no leaking. Only small complaint I have with the Snail is it doesn't sit flush on the bottom?
15959825973891733245545.jpg
Idk if that's an SXK thing or cuz i don't have the plug in, but i didn't get one. No biggie, but worth mentioning. If there is no regression vapewise, both massive winners in my book. Gotta give em a bit of time though. Both set up the same. Chimney insert, 1.5mm af, .85, 20w
