How long does vape gear last you ?

I've been gone for a couple of years (life got busy) but wanted to report with heavy heart that as of today I'm
retiring my Tobecco Super Tank.
After 5 1/2 years of daily use it still works like day one, but I replaced with a Steam Crave Aromamizer V3 (great rta).
I had gotten a deal on Aspire Clapton coils (5 for .99) so I bought 75 boxes, now I'm down to about 4 boxes.
So between the FDA crap and vape shops getting thinner I'm going back to making my own coils.

Lets hear how long you have used a piece of gear...

I still use my Kanger Nebox pretty much daily for 5 years- My favorite beater mod that goes everywhere with me. That thing just works great for me - I have 2 spares put away waiting for the day this dies.
Looked a little worse for wear so I bought a wrap for it. The Nebox was one of my 1st step up gear from starter gear I used. Takes an 18650 removable battery, holds almost 10 mls of liquid, kanger SSOCC and OCC coils and has an RBA.
Yes I have some really nice gear, many stabwood mods, DNA and squonk mods and great sub tanks , RTAs, RDA's but the Kanger Nebox is my oldest that I still use today.

My first real mod of any quality is a rainbow heaven MKB-TS. Clone of the Golden Greek GGTS. I have 5 of them all approaching 6 years old and still work great. These along with the GGTS had issues with the collector tank having connectivity issues. I took several 510 stealth caps and removed the center pins and turned the tops down and made hybrid caps. Never had any issues with them since.

Wow, that's a long time for a Tobeco tank. I have a couple since day one 5yrs ago and they're all doing well. Sounds like you wore your down pretty good.

I have yet to have something die on me from prolonged use.

On average, probably my mech mods will last me only just about three quarters of a century, give or take. It could also be a tad longer... or if they will have invented time travel before my last one breaks. ?

I have 3 REO Grands circa 2014 that are in my OTR (On The Road) arsenal. They just work without any fuss. I had a 4th one, but sadly I left it in a rental car. :(

I'm pretty good at taking care of my stuff. Every once in a while a mod will start acting up so I just use another. None have mysteriously died on me, even Smok mods.

My first few years vaping I used the heck out of some stuff. It was mods and tanks mostly. Mods got abused and beat to hell. I've never really had durability issues. I generally used things until I couldn't no more. A lot of it has had its paint or finish wear off.

These days I have enough stuff to grab what I want to use. I'll sit one mod out for another. My atomizers get rotated out all the time too. There's always at least one Elder Dragon sitting on a squonk mod. I have 6 of them and have 2 more coming tommorow (I think). Those shouldn't fail me, but I got so many because I never want to be without one.

Yeah, it's different if you have a bunch of setups out and available, and aren't using just a couple all the time.

I have had at least six mods to die, five of them in what I'd consider their infancy. An Aspire Pegasus, two Sigelei Evayas, and two Modefined Lyras. I also had one mod, that I'd bought used, to die. It was a P4U Vesta. I don't really know how much that mod was used before I got it.

What I consider to be my first real vape mod, Wismec Rx Gen 3 -300. The mod and batteries are 3 years old. The batteries are not as efficient as they once were but still very usable. The mod works as new with never a problem. It has over 200,000 puffs on it. I still use it daily. I am using it now with a Prince rba.

The oldest mod I have that’s been in continual use would be a dna30 box from 2014. I also use a kayfun lite from 2013.

I'm a little different. Sometime I would see how passionate I am towards my mod. Like sometimes I run out of passion, then I would see if anyone wants it.

Aside from the occasional eGo or EVOD battery that I run across under the seat in the car or tucked into a cup with pens and pencils, the oldest things I have are a couple of Sigelei Spark 90W box mods from probably 2015 or 2016. One of them is packed away, the other is at my office and was still in light use until I quit going to the office in March. It has a Kabuki clone on it. Bet that thing is gunked up big time by now. I'm not going down there to find out, though.

Still think that Kabuki was the best MTL factory-coil tank I ever used.

Both on my Vamo V2's still work.
They aren't pretty, but they work.
I also have some Protanks.
I even have a couple boxes of the coil heads. lol

That Kanger Protank adjustable airflow base add on was a real game changer.
It went from feeling like you were sucking through a pinhole to feeling like you were sucking through a slightly larger pinhole. :giggle:

Only been vaping around 4.5yrs or so. Out of a handful of mods (all regulated) and atomizers, the only real problematic ones I've basically retired are an istick tc 100w and ehpro bachelor rta. The istick is a replacement for the first one that died on me and I figured out it's a design flaw in the internal components, how they're soldered so I know it's a matter of time before the backup istick fails as well. The bachelor still works just has a bit of a leaking/seeping problem at the top fill where they used a silicone gasket insert under a swing away cap. In all their infinite wisdom I never saw replacement gaskets offered which are prone to wear and tear. It won't completely dump a tank of juice or anything but seeps enough juice at the seam where the cap slides shut I just don't mess with it much. Everything else still works well.

I quit vaping about 2 years ago when all my devices quit working and I was fed up, plus not in a position to DIY e-liquid. Now that I have a stable home again I have bought new devices on clearance of course. I hope they last longer than my other devices.
I have a VooPoo VMate 200w which is my new favorite, Smok D-Barrel, Smok RPM80 (I wanted to know what Pod Mods are all about, now that I know I bought a 510 adapter to snap in place of the pod), and a Vape Master 40w internal battery.
I went for the Intake Mike Vapes single and dual RTA's, a Dead Rabbit RDA, and a REM RDA that I bought for 50 cents and has turned out to be a nice dripper.
I am happy about making my own flavors again.

I started vaping back in early 2012 using eGo batteries and eGo-C atties. Most of those varients didn't last more than six months before they bit the dust for one reason or another. OTOH, a couple of ego Twists and chargers, and a couple of atties from that era were still alive and well a few years ago when I cleaned out my vapocalipse box and I tossed them. Ya, not going to go vape any of that stuff anytime soon :)

Mods like the old Vamo's and Lavatubes (damn, that Lavatube kit is listed as 'in stock' !!! ) didn't generally last too long either. I bought a couple of Lavatubes later in 2012 and while they performed well for that time while they lasted, they were nowhere near like the good devices we are used to now. Neither lasted more than about 3 or 4 months without major MacGyvering involved.

Because I wanted more than the 5-6 watts the eGo stuff could produce, and because the affordable 'more powerful' regulated devices like the Lavatubes were so bad, I got into mech mods next. My first was a Kamry K100 which was an eye opener for me. Build a coil with a certain resistance and the mod would output the appropriate watts. I was in heaven :) . It needed regular maintenance like all mech mods do, and I had to replace the switch spring a couple of times, but it served me well for quite a while. I still have that mod and it is still fully functional though the spring needs to be replaced again. I bought a Nemesis clone next and used it for about a year. It is also still very serviceable.

Since about 2017 I think all of the mods I've bought (all regulated) are still with me and in good shape. Some of them are not the best for one reason or another, but are still very usable if push comes to shove. IMO if someone chooses mods and atties with reasonable care these days they will get very good use out of them over time.

Think they all generally last a while unless they are my Smok alien that had like 4 replacements til I got pissed off and traded for a Tesla steampunk haha

But yeah aspire, vaporesso, innokin, Smoant. Most of the chinese ones last for a while. Longest is my Voopoo drag that I use 3 years later. As for DNA or Yihi just can't afford em!

I've had the Haze square for 2 years now. It malfunctioned when I first got it but Haze (Which doesn't exist anymore) ended up replacing it with a brand new one. I had a snoop dogg gpen for 4 months and the mouthpiece melted. Innokin MVP has lasted a long time. I replaced the coils every month with new ones and it still works. In the end, Box mods and portable vaporizers last the longest just like the original Firefly works still. But I now have the Firefly 2

I should round everything up and count. I've got 20-30 mods of many different brands and the only thing that's crapped out on me is 2 Reuleaux RX300's I bought cheap 2-3 years ago on clearance and an SL Class I drove into the ground after 2 years of heavy usage (it was my daily driver and I replaced it with another). Still have my original Aspire setup that works but I haven't fired it up in about 5 years. My first "real" mod was a Kangertech 160 and it still works fine. I have prolly 35-40 tanks or more of various flavors, mostly Aromamizer Supremes of different variations and I have never given up on anything. I only have the original Aspire, a Crown II, and a Horizentech that require premade coils; everything else is rebuildable. I have 510 taps and dies for chasing threads which I have only had to do a few times. I think I have spare glass and seals for everything I own because I've kept all the boxes for posterity. I have gotten pretty good value and reliability out of just about everything I own. I have some high end stuff and some low end stuff and it all seems to work out the same.
