Bamma probably gonna win the CFP, again. A billion dollar program can't lose..... ;-)

But, Ohio vs Alabama for the title? Jeezus....that is a betting nightmare. OFC you'd favor Bama, but Ohio just destroyed Clemson...da fuk???

Trevor and his wannabe hippy locks just got owned. College football shook. Millions were just lost at silly odds. ;-)

Meanwhile, some NFL players want salary paid in Bitcoin.

Seriously!? They want to be paid in Bitcoins.
I see your football here because some of our AFL big kickers get picked up over there. So as more do, like some of our Basketball players, we see it. That brawl was all over our news here.
But now Bitcoins. I guess it wont be long before our AFL top players ask the same.
Id make them sign a contract that said "bits of a coin" then give them this. :giggle:

Hey everyone. Its just sunk in to be honest at the loss of Amber.
Im blown away to have found out really. What a lovely person. Was always nice, kind and polite. There's a lot to be learnt from that I think to myself.
If I can take anything from my time knowing Amber here its as simple, yet as profound meaningful and lasting as this.
Always say something kind.
Out of respect for Amber im going to drop off for a few days, because sometimes I say stupid things.
Seriously, seriously wish she was still around to even just say one more nice thing to her.
She deserved that and more.
:(

I know what you mean. We PM'd each other once and a while. I made her a bunch of juice and sent her a couple Crown 2 tanks and 80 coils for them.
She was in a bind. 3 weeks after that I heard she was killed. Big loss . She was a nice person and I miss her on here.
Actually a few more are missing around here. Hope everything is going good for them

Hey @MyMagicMist , here's a game for ya. :)

It can't be worse than the previous two games today.

View attachment 175619

Saw a quick news blurb one of those games became a fight. Yay, hand egg will soon be good like hokey. We'll need to buy boxing passes to watch American football & Canadian hokey. :)

I genuinely dinae follow any of these sports. Father in law told me Army won this year's Army v. Navy football. I 'boot arf wanted to watch that game but feel no loss not seeing it.

Been watching WWE. Seems there chasing a downward spiral. At a recent pay-per-view they allegedly lit a wrestler on fire. Course, half an eye to knowing such is fantasy, you saw through it. Still you got bain n kooth watching. How ya 'spect parents 'splain to wee spry ones, "no luv he's not really burned up, it was a dummy."

Atop that one of their big "talents" was marked as a "good guy". He was also not afeared of any other wrestler. Late he's been using his cousin to fight another wrestler he's lost three times to. He's hiding because he cannot beat the other guy, can only attack him from behind or with a buddy/both. Makes the guy seem the "bad guy" and chicken shite bit*h.

Tell ye they keep on folks go to looking at the independent wrestling circuits, or better still MMA, Shoot Fights. But I don't pay but so much attention to WWE or other fighting either.

It's "something to look at", "moving pictures" & to be honest I could likely get as much watching an open fire. Five minutes an I go out like a light.

Wtf. I hate to be insensitive, or clueless, but this is the first I've heard of this. She was so nice, and talented. How did this happen?

Was wondering where her and a few others have gone.... May she rest in peace, and prayers to her family and friends.

Seahawks play today for seeding mostly, but it should be a fun day today.
It's beautiful out too...snow is about gone and it's in the 40s. Milly's crashed out on the back of the couch behind me. :)

I am ready for some football with my 'new' hat and shirt I'd bought the other day at Thrift for cheap. :D

always a good day when the saints take home a win at 33-7 when they don’t have any of their running backs and missing their top 3 receivers.

next victim- Chicago

Shame it wont matter....muhahaha...
I like the Saints, but the East Coast is done....it'll be Mahomes vs whomever...

Final four is all but set. Truthfully, as good as the Hawks are this year, I don't know we can beat Mahomes.
I don't think anyone can beat him, directly. But...

Russ has the skill, experience and relationships with his team.....I think 1-1, YES. We can beat any team in this league..the stuff Russ and Metcalf did in the desert is next level..

This is our time.

You may be right. I think the only chance the saints have of beating him is if they have some surprises with Hill.

If Washington wins a 7-9 team gets the number 4 seed. If they lose then the 6-10 NYG get the #4 seed. The NFC East is fscking pathetic, not a single team at .500. Totally explains why I don't bother with football.

Yeah. She was a great person from my time knowing her.
I felt that after hearing of her passing I was personally, me, being too flippant at the same time then posting funny jokes and stuff elsewhere on the forum. It did hit my conscience in doing so. I felt crap in doing so to be honest.
So apologies to her friends here if it seemed like it it was just a quick pass over bit of info from my end.
It wasn't, I can assure.
Apologies to all.

apparently an aussie kid, max duffy, has done well in college football

our footy players sometimes make good punters. There is a lot of punting in AFL. We just call it "drop punt"

Lolly day, quite a lolly day.

Up and cracking off to father in laws by 6:45 to go for blood work alleged from the kidney doctor. Get to local hospital for said blood work. Registering, they got no orders for the blood work.

The office in Parkersburg doesn't open until 9. He's a doctor not in their network. So, off from there to back home just as wife and sis in law are off to work.

Wife says call the doctor, sort it. I try just round 8:30. Robo-menu says hours open at 9. Try twice more phone has fit and thinks I'm calling MA. Take phone to out front to get through again.

It's 9, figure you get a human. No, menu again. Ah, talk to nurse hit 1. Do, figure least that'll let me talk to a human. No. It's another menu, if an emergency dial 911or go to an emergency room, route back to appointments hit 2, talk to billing hit 3, all else leave name, DOB, message after tone.

***SMH***

The fuck? These folks really keen to get & keep business? I was referred by another doctor. New doctor wants special lab work but can't be courteous enough to send orders out for it? Then, no courtesy when the new patient has to call and sort your logistics out? And all so the new doctor can give a phone call visit?

SMH

I'm going to fucking medical school y'all.

Morning.
Off to get another Covid test, the cap was broken on the first one. No, I only have to take it because of an overly cautious intake "nurse". I went from a warm car to a cold walk into the warm lobby of the clinic. Sniffles, right? Nope, right into a quarantine room. My doctor's nurse, who knows that I go nowhere, had a fit. She went out and told the intake to get re-trained. And I didn't get to see the doctor! Anyway, I have to do it again. Maybe I'll order some flavors to make up for it!
Stay safe and healthy

Not laugh at your trouble. Laughing for facing much the same here. Had pain in my side for over year and half until finally someone gets wise, and thinks to get me to see a kidney doctor. Then, what I had today. Not good but good seeing I'm not alone in fretting over these quacks.

Told my mom I'm going to med school. Figure I can get robot phone menus, do jack nothing, make big money too.

Yep, hearing you. Read my above post to Misswish.
Infuriating and laborious. I feel like a lay down after just making a simple (supposed to be simple but is like navigating the world's most infuriating maze) phone call to ours.
If what I do was based upon staying there in regards to the staff id never go back ever and happily leave off in the blink of an eye. But I keep reminding myself its not about me and the incompetent workers its the resident patients, grin and bear it.....grin and bear it....grin and :gaah: bear it. :giggle:

That's all fine and well until it starts becoming a matter of contention between me & wife. Then, I say fuck stupid. Be damned if stupid is going to invade our space causing us to fight one another. This bullshit of not having your logistics sorted over a simple labs appointment is stupid. Not returning a patient call over logistics concerns is stupid too.

Bad enough had one prick come in after an inconclusive reading on a scan and blurt out right in front of her. "There's a very strong chance you now have cancer. Thought you ought to know." Found out two weeks later the radiologist looking at the scan left it as "an inconclusive shadow on the scan". They suggested not even mentioning it.

Oh but to come be prick in front of my wife, but sure enough this prick could do. And no I don't want possible negatives regarding my health sugar coated. At the same time there's a modicum of decency, ... bedside manner, tact. Then atop that, it turned out this prick was a prick over nothing. Yet another example of stupid.

Could it be I'm saying I don't tolerate stupid? Why yes, I think that is what I'm saying. And yes, well aware I myself at times can pull a real humming dumb, possibly even stupid. I try to not tolerate that either.

Morning.
All is well here this sunny day. Chilly but pretty. Jessie is on the deck waiting for the workshop to release Hubby. She worries. Last night she stepped on his heating pad, got the funniest look on her face, then laid down on it. It's warm, Dad, I like it! Hubby wasn't amused when she woke him up at 4:30, wanting some company...

Wow telling you that is beyond any actual words I know. Sorry to hear they are doing that.
Me and the misses were talking last week about how rapidly the world is becoming dumb, rude, self centered and about a dozen other things too. All negative. There still are good decent people around but the other group is growing at an exponential rate. It started to in my eyes before covid but has accelerated since it came onto the scene unfortunately.
Here is hoping your problem get sorted out ok with the minimal of issues Magic. ?

Agree there. Think it may go back at least to the 1970s. At least the most recent "wave" of it starting.

I'm sure there's entropy sooner as well. Now, it seems all the more amplified. World through technology has grown smaller.

Negativity doesn't need to travel far. Look at the evening news pandering what sales, tragedy, misery, crudeness. Keep telling water it is beautiful, it becomes so.

Humans are seventy five to eighty percent water. Fill us with all the sadness, rage, what can be expected? And NEWS (North East West South) get transported to us instantly over the Internet & Web, as much we can consume.

No, it's not all merely news doing it. People have to create news after all. Nature does as well. We've gone from nomadic hunters to settled farmers able to feed the globe over and keep that going abreast our population.

We lack the will to let good will out. Why? Not sure. Not claiming all the answers. Do know that there's no good without bad. There's always balance. As we're discussing though, the bad is unbalancing us all.

I dislike merely pointing to human nature as the justification. It genuinely is not. I've seen human nature also take us to the moon, save lives in times of crisis, defend those unable, create glorious artistry and heard awe inspiring music. So, no human nature does not, will not justify the bad.

Again, I have no answers. Can only observe, comment. Yes, I get frustrated at a lot of it now too. I'm supposed to be reasonably intelligent person, surely I ought to have answers. *sighs*

My apologies for my blatant cursing last post. No excuse aside from the frustration and it was not aimed at you.

No worries. The best of people pop the cork now n then. I've been known to as anyone who knows me knows.
Musing on it all I think perhaps as in the 70's onwards the boundaries got pushed back, people kept on pushing and pushing till there is not much of it left. People wanted to do what they wanted when they wanted, say what they want to whomever they want. They got it and here we are.
Take TV. Back years any show with swearing, and no not F and the likes, were delegated to after 9pm. Even then they didn't have F or..... Partial nudity was for then too, after 9pm.
Now on our TV it can appear any time of day on simple access to all free to air TV.
And it includes all profanities. So little kids unattended during the day flick the chanel and are filled with every profanity and cursing under the sun, sex scenes, graphic violence and murder, rape, criminals depicted as heros and glorified.
TV and the Net are the drugs off the masses. Everywhere you go you see multiple people watching something. They're in our pockets, cars, lounge rooms, dining rooms, Dr and Hospital waiting rooms and even our bedrooms. People can't even shop or walk now without their face buried in some type of screen!
For crying out loud, look at people at concerts and say watching fireworks. Huge amounts are holding a screen in front of their face recording it to share so they can say "hey look I was here"! But they have this huge live event in front of them yet are watching it through a tiny 6" screen as they record it! Utterly bizarre.
What goes in stays in. Like they say "you are what you eat". What you watch and accept is what you feed your mind. Not saying everyone who watches graphically violent movies all the time become murderers or those playing games killing and robbing will but personally I believe the removal of all those boundaries, acceptance of so much evil and wickedness in the name of entertainment and free speach has had and played an immense part in the creation/shaping of the society we live in today. Its had a global collective impact and as a world we now are "you are what you eat"!

Freedom of speech does not grant freedom to incite violence, harm or endanger others. Learned that quite a while back. Oddly, growing up in the 70's.

Back years any show with swearing, and no not F and the likes, were delegated to after 9pm. Even then they didn't have F or..... Partial nudity was for then too, after 9pm.

Agree. I recall Nancy Drew & The Hardy Boys being controversial. It used to come on after 9 PM. Johnny Carson come on at midnight & my goodness was Johnny a poke in the eye. I also grew up being aware of the Colgate Variety hour show. There was also the Three Stooges who were considered violent.

Yet in the same 70's I recall my mom letting me watch The Shining on TV. There was also Night of the Living Dead, Wax Museum. I also used to go to the old nickel matinees with Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi. There was The Blob too.

believe the removal of all those boundaries, acceptance of so much evil and wickedness in the name of entertainment and free speach has had and played an immense part in the creation/shaping of the society we live in today. Yep, agree. What is not entertaining is political crime & corruption. (Edited to avoid making it political.) That isn't cute or funny, no entertainment at all. People in lesser status would be jailed right away. Oh no, we just accept it.

Not funny, or entertaining to have grown up knowing about death squads in South America, acting so a big corporation could use chocolate for profit. Not that either knowing the heavy metal band what spoke out about it also saw profit. Sepultura's album Roots has a song regarding the death squads, a few more about much of the environment there and of the time.

Not entertaining to have watched all kinds of horror movies and shows to the point that now, "normalcy" is scary. Aye, most certainly agree.

As much as religion was an opiate for the masses, the information age has become *************** (speed, bah let the word be starred out. Not griping over censorship. I disagree in this case though with a policy that does not allow for analogies to be made. I'm not glorifying illicit substance abuse, but rather expressing and exploring broader sociological issues. But yeah, star it out because Gawd knows it's not right people speak as adults with any sense of intellect. Hell fire, opiate gets through. You'd think it wouldn't but there you are, non? :p) for the masses. The priests of the new religion, psychology use and abuse entertainment which crosses the transom using information age technology.

We're put into coma of being desensitized. It grants us blissful ignorant apathy, and the them an ability to use as a silent consensus not objecting to anything.

Or, as was said earlier, ...

Interestingly enough we're given the thesis and antithesis, as well as synthesis. these all come right out of the 70's. You get the Problem, Reaction, Solution all in one shot. It's a lovely perfected Hegelian dialectic on display.

Perhaps that was objetive lesson. "Here's how it's done, see. Now you got the tools. Jam the culture." Who knows? It might have slipped through the cracks too.

Look at me. I'm not even supposed to be alive, literally. My mom was told she would never have children. I'm proof opposite that. Mom tried killing herself (using drugs) while preggers with me, I survived. I died of pneumonia at 11 months old, came back, still living.

I'm from the 70's generation. Boy have I ever slipped through some cracks. So, reckon I'm proof that it happens. Ah, maybe my mom drugging me as a fetus cau)sing brain damage left me without answers. Ha ha! Quite a kick in the head that as a thought. *chuckling, smh* Maybe it's my dad's fault, for not being a dad.

Bah. Nope, it ultimately comes to being my fault I'm sure. I'm not college edumcated. My fault too for being born, then my fault too for not staying dead. Yep, yep, yep, all my fault. I'll be the scapegoat, just call me Bamphomet. Oh, that was so bahhhhd. I ought to go to the barn to hang myself now for it. *chuckles* Bet I'd manage to keep living anyway. Too stubborn to give up.

Life is like a weed growing up through concrete, it will out. It is also proof the cosmos and all infinity has a sense of humor. Don't believe it, ask the oldest and most basic questions we all ask.

Why am I here?

Where am I going?

What is the meaning of living?

You'll soon come to see absurdity. If you don't go punch your local Buddha in the nose. You'll get the Manual then and start seeing better.

Freedom of speech does not grant freedom to incite violence, harm or endanger others. Learned that quite a while back. Oddly, growing up in the 70's.

Im reading both real and your humour here.
Hey, today shopping I watched a guy got through and flip stuff over flipatly like crap then move on. i waited for easy few minutes then he moved on. I said " hey mate, excuse me Id just like to get where you were" He moved then Arced right up seriosly agro and violent "YOU THINK IM DONE!?" Me "excuse me mate im not sure what you mean, I watched then asked politely"
Him "YOU THINK I DONT WANT TO SHOP ANYMORE YOU.........M*!##@**!!"
Me "Mate, I asked you politely with Please and you moved so whats this all about?"
Him "Your a f*#!*@ *#!!@& !#!*@: im gonna tear your head off"
Im thinking really, at looking at ham in Aldi? So I make the mistake of saying "grow up bro"
He went ballastic!
So I said "Whatever, have a nice day" as he walked of cursing me.
My misses said too after I picked her up, we tag team shop these days so as to lessen?the pain, "my day shopping was crap, how was yours?"
Guess the reply..

Dank days...dark, chilly, and rainy. Not abnormal weather...for April...lol...

Did make it out to get a few supplies though for decent prices:

I'd originally bought the same D3 drops from AMZ, then I found out my Rite-Aid carries 'em for $8 and no shipping required. Bought the Vit C, got the D3 for free.

Got the GOOD T.P. too, 12 dbl rolls for $7.

FWIW, ran into this bit of info. if you have a Netgear router you should look at it.

Noticed the very popular and being still sold Nighthawk R7000 is affected, that's pretty severe.

But, meh...it's Netgear..lol...

(If this should be posted elsewhere, feel free to move it, I just didn't see any related topics that weren't seriously necro.)

Pretty sure there's a Cisco router here. Will not say there is for 100% sure. Believe it is but It may be another brand, for sure not Netgear.

Also think I'm behind three firewalls. Think I also have something set up to randomize my MAC (Media Access Control) number. Nope, no vpn. I'm located somewhere around the South of Charleston, or somewhere near Danville though according to the IP number.

I could set up relays but see no great need of it. If really pressed could relay out of Sugar Grove and be seen as anywhere in the world. There's a Naval comms base. Again though, don't see a need. If I was too concerned I'd be using a TAILS operating system that would keep me a ghost.

Yep, got fork bomb protection on my system as well. No zombies gonna put my box down. :)

Really sensitive data, info, I put no where near a computer though. If I do encrypt, what is locked stays locked. Nope, not paranoid only situational awareness & I don't piddle regarding opsec.

Just run a BSD distro if you really wish to be secure... ;)

I believe in layered security and Safe Hex. No one thing makes anyone "secure"...there is no such thing.
Nowadays, it's mroe important to keep yer infos your own and not in the 'cloud', or spread across a zillion DB's for profits by companies that care nothing except for profits.

Cisco (consumer) has plenty of vulns too, they are not the old company they were.
And your MAC doesn't matter. Cloning it is trivial and is about as helpful as hiding your SSID.

Fork bomb? That is like ancient...like a teardrop attack.

I do like VPN's though. =)

Milspec and 'defense contractor', is some of the most insecure shit there is. Just ask China or Russia.
Social engineering and general laziness will always trump security.

Fun:

I'm old, I don't get into all the hax shit anymore...no need and risk/reward is a bad ratio. I just like keeping an ear to the ground. Thought I'd post it to be helpful. :)

Morning.
Got back from a Wally's pick-up and a car wash. Big day out, lol. Jessie was very helpful putting away the groceries, she likes to supervise in case there's any treats. And she doesn't mind having an empty bag.
Stay safe and healthy

Awake early. Our dog leapt from our bed and ran out to the front carrying on. A deer seems to have run into the side of the house or the door.

Went out to check. Saw a deer looking dazed and confused nine yards to a meter off the porch in front of the door. Spoke to it and told it not to come in so close to the house. It wandered a bit confused by the flash light/torch. Other deer were near, figure they got it back "in line".

Then, of course the dog had to go potty. He done scared himself. He's now laying by me on the bed gnawing an "oinky". "Oh look at him, such a big dog." *chuckles* Deer would drag him along for miles if he could ever get close enough to bite one in the heel.

I'm concerned though he'll go after the buck what hangs back. That buck has already told me he's fit for my dog. And that buck has good reason to want to gouge my dog. His family can't graze but what my dog ain't trying to run 'em off.

I step out and growl low, grunt. That buck nods as he sees my tiny dog run back behind me. His family and him move on just out of distance from us. Not like they don't got a bit over three acres to roam, and more what with the hills around.

Yeah, life in WV be like that. :)

Smallish heatwave here now. Not as high as it can get but with low winds and higher than usual humidity its a bit uncomfortable. Will get worse in coming weeks for sure. Air con on right now and feeling ok. Still 28c where we are at 9pm. Got to 35c today spot on the forecast temp.
Otherwise in our town is ok. Sadly though because of all the covid and stuff people are mostly ignoring each other, other than those with chips on their shoulders.
Nice though down the street today. An old guy actually came up to me as I went into a shop and said "hi how are you going mate" What a good moment. I said "yeah great mate, gonna get hot though this week, you take care" Him, "yeah heard it is, you too". That exchange used to be very very common before covid here in the bush.
Anyone passing another, 7 out of 10 would nod or say hi or g'day. A year on its a welcome exchange and rare. :(
Times are changing huh!
