good single flavor concentrates?

I should be shortly starting diy for the first time to save a little money in the long run.

Ive sourced RTS as my supplier but confused on what are some good single flavor concentrates to start out with.

I really enjoy fruity flavors like apple and strawberry but hear so much about how one company makes a better flavor than another and dont want to invest in something i may not like.

I currently vape single flavors from Vista Vapors and not sure if this is a quality juice or if i can mix something better in a single flavor.

Ive heard TFA has a really good strawberries and cream and think i may try this but i need a more complete list of options of good single mix concentrates

Any suggestions?

My smeller isnt very good so i tend to like a sweet taste on the tongue.

To each there own, but I like these TFA flavors at around 10%
Banana Cream
Bavarian Cream
Cheesecake graham crust
Cinnamon Danish
Dragon fruit
Strawberry
Strawberry (ripe)
Sweet Cream
Vanilla Swirl
Watermelon
White Chocolate
Most of the time I refill my nautilus tank with a different flavor when it's about 1/4th full. So I'm always getting a new mix and all of these mix well with each other.

When I first started DIY I bought a bunch of flavors from various different places, and then messed around making awful mixes! It wasn't until I started following recipes that I had success - and I had to buy all new flavors! So, just as a thought, it might be more cost effective to find a recipe or two you want to make and then buy the flavors for those.

Everybody is different. My favorite vape is TFA Raspberry(sweet) @ 10%. I like almost all of the TFA fruits I've tried but some do need a bit of something to sweeten 'em.

I agree... find a recipe you like with flavors that sound good. Vape and observe them all solo, and try subtracting or adding one ingredient at a time from the recipe. If you don't love any single one, at least you've got a solid recipe to fall back on, and the experience gained from tasting everything in different contexts.

I like TFA's ripe strawberry, FA's strawberry, and Capella's Sweet Strawberry. I have a sweet tooth though, so I typically add a few drops of marshmallow, brown sugar, or whipped cream.

Thanks for the responses everyone... do plan to experiment just not wanting to buy one companies strawberry that doesnt taste like strawberry.

I already want to try and do a strawberry and banana milk shake once i can get single flavor mixes correct to my liking.

Isnt it caramel you add to give off a creamy flavor like a milk shake?

Depends if you want a caramel taste to it. I like FA's Vienna Cream and Fresh Cream for milkshake type mixes. Vienna Cream has hints of vanilla. It's awesome.

Ok..sounds good...im hoping what i make doesnt need a 30 percent flavor boost as it seems the flavoring is going to be the most expensive part of it ..ultimately i would make 100ml batches of what i liked and about 15 dollars worth of flavor for a 30 percemt boost of single flavor seems expensive..lol...im only paying 18 shipped for 102ml now..was hoping to cut costs not raise them..lol

I sounded a bit cheap there but i suppose if i can make something i like for 20 dollars a bottle to last me a month, its better than a carton a week for cigs at 50 dollars..scratch my cost rant...lol

I suppose another question if i may..are most of the TFA flavors based on a pg or a vg mix...im going to shoot for maybe a 70vg 30pg mix.

The nic will be pg based at 100mg so its only 10 percent mix of pg right there for a 100ml bottle of of 10mg nicotine content ...so if i can get by with a 20 percent flavor boost thats pg based, that should give me a 70/ 30 mix ,correct?..the rest being VG.

20% of flavor is a lot. Sometimes too much flavor taste bad.(best to start with small amount and add if needed)
Do you have a juice mixing program?
If you don't get one like ejuicemeup, it's free to download and use.
I like a 50/50 mix when I use a tank (Nautilus mini, smoketech ARO V2,)
I also make very small batches (I put all liquids in the same small dripper bottles and count drops as they go into a tank,
5 drops PG base TFA flavor,
5 drops PG base100mg nicotine,
25 drops VG and
15 drops PG)

I typically find myself ordering juice at 30 percent..maybe my bad sense of smell but ill get a faint hint of what is im vaping that way.

I would definately mix a smaller 10ml bottle and try that b4 deciding to mix a 100ml batch...ill be sure to try like 5 percent at a time and work up with it.

Thank you.

My TFA flav % + 100% PG 100mg Nic (@12mg or so) + remaining VG typically ends up around 70-80% VG

Although it is a lot harder to get strong flavours at that VG %. Most of the time you won't get much of a difference from 10% flavour to 20% (other than potential negative effects)

TFA Orange Cream is nice stand-alone
TFA Rainbow drops is quite nice, although I usually add small % of Fruit Circles + other citrus / filtered fresh lemon juice etc
TFA Wild Blueberry is very true to the fruit, but quite subtle. Think my high VG% doesn't help lol

Agree with Marcus. Some companies' flavors need a high percentage, but there are quite a few companies who need a quarter of that.

I like to try the flavors individually before I mix with them, and here's where I am with different strawberries.
TFA ripe @ 8%
CAP @ 6%
FA @ 3%
INW wild @ 4%

When I first quit smoking and only vaped, I could not taste any thing but cinnamon red hot at 20%, It burned the top of my tongue, I then lowered it to 15% then 10%. After a few months my taste buds recovered and now I enjoy most flavors. I have a drawer full of single flavor juice and each day I fill my tanks with different mixes and keep notes. today it's
sweet cream&white chocolate&banana cream in one tank
Slowfoot's sweet lucy & sweet cream in tank two
Clean Vape's strawberry & Lemon Bar in tank three
ITCVapes' Melon Twist in tank four.

Does this taste like Skittles? I don't remember seeing that flavor until recently.

I've had great feedback from my friends with this one.

I haven't tried a straight version of it, and unsure how much depth is added by the Fruit Circles

I did try 75% Fruit Circles and 25% Rainbow Drops and it did not work well at all. Lost all the 'pop' my original blend from TFA samples pack (which I did 50/50 flavour)

Honestly, I think most of the great fruit (skittles) flavour is coming from the Rainbow drops and not the Fruit Circles

Ends up being a great base, perhaps a great stand-alone.

I mix most of my TFA flavors at 8-10%. Definitely try all your flavors as single flavor mixes at first, and the above-noted spreadsheet is great for starting percentages. I, too, love the TFA Cinnamon Red Hot. I mix at 10%, which is probably pretty strong for most people. Almost all of the TFA flavorings are PG and/or alcohol based.

Much of the work on starting percentages for different flavors and companies has been done for us. I use charts like the one sheet RP posted and start there. At the least, it gives me a vapable starting point and I can adjust up or down as desired. I'm quite happy to not have to start at 1% and credit goes to those that did the early work and posted it.

What they all said.
Taste is so subjective. I did not care for TFA's Strawberry (Ripe), but I love their Banana (Ripe).

The only thing I can add is buy small bottles of flavors until you find the ones you really like then go for the larger sizes.
When I am buying flavors that I know I want, I toss in at least one "wild-card" flavor. Something I wasn't planning on buying.
I found more great flavors that way and a few yucky ones, but that is part of the fun.

I think Cap's Chocolate Coconut Almond is pretty solid 10-15%, decent Almond Joy. It's decently accurate after it sits over night, but before it's aged 5-7 days. Then It becomes it's own thing with the almond more present, still good though. The un-aged toasted almond in (I have this Cap's flavor too, pretty sure) it gives it the dryness that is "like" the candy bar.

5 drops of this in a vanilla protein shake reminds me of "In-n-out" chocolate milkshakes... weird. It just occured to me this should be delicious with ... holy crap maybe any FA cream or bakery, haven't had any since I abandoned Capella last year.:p

Ok..pulled the trigger with rts vapes and placed my order...Gonna try the lesser cost concentrates for now.. $23 and change shipped for everything with a "firstorder"discount code.....this only gave me a discount on the nic and vg...Shipping always gets me..$5.00 of that in shipping

60ml of vg
60ml of 36mg nicotine (pg based)
TFA strawberries and creme (10ml)
TFA French vanilla (10ml)
TFA apple candy (10ml)

And picked up some syringes.

I'll boil out some 10ml bottles ive had laying around for a bit.

I'll make a 10ml batch of each single flavor and see if i like anything.

Let the games begin :)

According to the tod muller recipe calculator ,this is what its saying i need to mix for a 10ml batch.

3.3ml of nicotine base (12mg content)
5.7ml of vg
1.0ml of flavoring (10%)

So if the flavoring is pg based i should have around a 60vg/40pg mix.

Let us know if you come up with a percentage of the TFA S+C that you like standalone. I haven't played with it much but I didn't drool over the one mix I made @ 10%. I'm working on adding it into other mixes to make them a little more complex. I'd like to know what you think of the Apple candy as well. I'm still searching for a good apple flavor. About to pull the trigger on some FA Fuji Apple and hope it knocks the socks off this Hangsen Red Delicious Apple I already have.

RTS is a great vendor. I like their PG, VG and nic bases a lot. You're off to a great start.
