I've seen some crazy looking mods lately.
  • Hand grenades
  • Automatic rifle clips
  • Snuff cans
  • Male...member...shapes...
What is your opinion of this stuff? Are they giving vaping a bad image?

Automatic rifle clips? what is the difference between a automatic rifle clip and a standard ammunition magazine?
Snuff is a long time tradition and are generally small as hell. you mean smokeless tobacco tins?
Mock grenades.. meh heavy and stinky.
If you want to suck off a dick shaped mod that is your call.

Dude. You went all politically correct for a minute there. You feeling alright? ;)

It's interesting how some people react to these mods. I could care less what they look like, as long as they're safe. I wouldn't own one myself. On the flip side, I can see how these would be off-putting to some people. Next thing, we'll have to start putting an orange tip on everything so the cops know it's not a weapon.

Does it reflect well, not particularly. Does it reflect poorly, not particularly. I don't think this will make or break anyone's view. And if it does, I don't think I could care enough if that is the kind of thing they consider.

Consider this.
Adult hobby, adult tastes.
Joke em if they can't take a fuck.
I would vape out of a glock if it would work.

If I had a lot of money to waste, I would get them just to collect the suckers.

But taking them out in public, no.

To a party at a friend's house, hell yes just to mess with them!

Automatic rifles do not use clips anymore.

They have been used to extend the capacity of box magazines. They were also used to feed anti-aircraft guns and field artillery.

For a good example of image effect, just look at novelty cigarette lighters. They are available in all those designs and thousands more.

Now, I never had second thoughts about leaving my gun shaped lighters at home when going to public places. But I had no issues with taking them with me to friends houses. You never know if somebody will get the wrong impression and panic or cause a fuss just for the sake of it.

They never used a clip. The "clip" was used in a M1A. Automatic rifles use MAGAZINES, drums, or are belt fed.
Yep, When I was a young lad I went through DCM, had a retired Marine Corps Drill instructor teach me the M1 Garand from muzzle to butt. I have a scar on my right thumb because I didn't stuff a clip in correctly while holding the bolt back with the opposite side of my hand (pinkie side).

I have an M1. (Springfield) I hold the bolt back with one hand, and jam the clip down with the other. Not brave like you.. lol

Kinda on topic, since I've started vaping I still want to get an nes controller with a DNA board in it, not a stupid sticker of one. Eventually I'll have the vape budget to afford one, I wouldn't trust myself with a soldering iron, or many tools for that matter. I'm kinda clumsy.

The only one I actually like is the Guitar Pedal Mod. I'd have to look it up, but it's a nice piece, and I've played guitar since I was about ten, so it holds a certain novelty nerdy coolness to me. Plus, I'm pretty sure the company lets you send them pedals of your choice for an extra fee. Twisted420 reviewed one, it looks ridiculous, but it's cool. Expensive, though.

They make stomp box project boxes that are empty.
You just need to be slightly inclined to mod it.

I don't happen to be able to do those wonders, unfortunately. I also think it would be cool to use a pedal that I play with, could just find what I want broken on eBay or Craigslist cheap. I have quite a few pedals, even some I don't use. Maybe one day I'll get one made, but the cost to actual usability factor doesn't work.

I should add a 510 connection to one of my amps. I wonder how vaping with power from vacuum tubes would be? Lol.

If I could just get the internals of this vision spinner into the barrel of my Glock 22 and get a 510 connection at the end of the barrel.... I'd look like a total nard, but someone would buy it and I could make a ton of money off that idea.

I think it came about with the war stories told by fathers and grandfathers that had clip fed rifles and carbines during WWII through Vietnam. Our Enfields of that era were fed the same way.

But, they had magizine fed 1911s as well. They knew the freak'n difference. I blame hollywood - for every-damn-thing I don't like.
