Aliens Finally

I think I finally got the hang of spinning aliens. The 3×30/38 was not a fluke. Here is a 3×28/26 I finished yesterday. Got about 14" spun and made a bunch of coils from it. Best of all is that I figured out a new build workflow that helps me knock out a few sets of coils in one sitting. Run a decore then stagger the same decored wire for an SFC build. Afterward I build some aliens. I usually end up with 4 or 5 sets by the time I'm done.

I only want it to taste amazing. Is that too much to ask?

The smaller you go, the tougher it is. 3x30/38 is challenging for most new people. If you can master that size, anything bigger should be a breeze. Overall the most common alien coils I've made are 3x28/38ga. Second place would be 3x26/36 but I've made far more 3x28.

I started spinning last June so almost a year now. I always made 3 core aliens until recently. I didn't really think to try more than that. I started making some with 4 cores a few weeks ago though. I might try 5 and 6 cores in the future. What got me thinking about it was AVS sent me some 6x30/36 alien coils. The alien wraps were a bit sloppy but the cores weren't collapsed or anything. The more you lead with the de-core, the more gaps you'll see. I try to hold my wire at 90° which keeps the wraps pretty tight. Those AVS ones were really gapped out. Yours look pretty decent bud. Congrats on conquering the alien coil build.

Fraliens take longer to prep but they're worth it to some folks. I think they're great but aliens are too.

Thanks. I couldn't believe it when I pulled off the 3×30/38 as my first successful set and continued to make decent ones. I still f up along the stick but luckily those coils are for mtl/Boro style bridges so it takes less to make a decent coil. I did some 3×25/36 for a guy that turned out great. Since then I have done plenty of 3×28 & 3×26 aliens. I still haven't ventured into adding more cores, but a guy who won a 3-pack of my coils in a giveaway on the VIFR discord server is gifting me a kit from Just Vapours that has a new swivel and some core stabilizers. So that should help. Overall I'm pleased with my aliens and they vape better than any I have received from other builders imo.
I got some great tips in a build group on FB including how to stretch correctly and to use oversize decores for a more pronounced wave pattern. E.g. the 3×30 use a decore from 28g. The 3×25 used a 22g decore.
