L'Ame des Poetes (soul of the poets)

Hitler rounded up and exterminated poets and writers wherever the Third Reich advanced. He considered artists and intellectuals to be as much a threat as jews, gypsies, homosexuals or any other group this paranoid, power mad psychopath tried to stamp out.

This is a bittersweet post war song by Charles Trenet, sung here by Juliette Greco, about how the poets may be long gone, but their songs are remembered and cherished, heard ringing in the streets by sidewalk musicians, or sung by mothers to lullabye their babies to sleep, songs never lost nor forgotten.

This is one of the better re-masters for sound quality. Juliette Greco was 13 years old when Hitler's troops marched into Paris. Her mother was a capitaine of Le Maquis, the French Resistance. Her older sister worked for the resistance too. Both were imprisoned for it, leaving Greco alone in her family's apartment, to fend for herself. She pioneered the look of mens wear for women because it was what she had, hand-me-downs from men in her building. She could easily have fallen into prostitution to avoid starvation, had it not been for a woman in her building who introduced her to a movie producer. Greco's first fame was as an actress, later as a singer.

Thank you my friend  , I was too sore to go with her and I asked her if she was alright and she said she was just neck a little stiff. Jean was comin out of a Kroger lot (grocery store here) on to a highway and the lady hit so hard it pushed the bumper almost under the bed.
I pulled something when I fell that causes pain whenever I move that leg.
Just been a bad but usual week.

Make sure Jean sees a doctor for the whiplash which is something you don't want to ignore. Keep the receipt to charge the other driver's insurance. I hope both of you are feeling better.

So after Monday's late arrival it snowed on Tuesday. My laser range finder that I use to measure power poles is not accurate in snow, so Tuesday was shot. Then my return flight Friday was delayed by two hours because the plane got in late Thursday night the crew needed mandatory rest. Needless to say instead of arriving in my home airport at 12:30pm I got back at 8pm. Not a fun week except for the bar and grills I found. One had half price whisky on Wednesday which was enjoyable, yes I was close enough to walk to and from.

What a terrible run of bad luck. It has to get better from here.

According to the weather app on my phone there will be rain and snow on Tuesday and Wednesday. Soooo....

Glad you are finally home and have a great weekend ahead!
Well, I finished doing my taxes yesterday and it was not fun. Gotta pay the feds and CA, but I get a little back from MN. Yup, I was in MN so much last year I had to pay non-resident taxes. For the feds and CA I set up auto debit to pay on April 18th, which is tax day this year. They can wait for their money.

Today will be church and grandson time! Maybe some mod and atty cleaning/rewicking later.

Friday, mixed up 360ml of E-liquid, but somehow, I ended up with an extra 10ml of vg pg
Worked out 'cause I wanted to mix up a small bottle of RaspBlu with a touch of peppermint. Yup, I was lazy and didn't want to mix up any vg pg nic to make a 20ml.
Hoping, it will taste as good as drinking peppermint tea and taking a vape of RaspBlu. If it turns out well, I'll play with the percentages on next batch. I'll also be prepared, not be lazy, to make up the vg pg nic, well, won't have a choice to be lazy  :teehee:
