Can I vape in the same house with a pregnant woman?

I would only do it in 1 specific separate room and intend to cover the door with a towel and open the windows. Hoping some experts might know about it.

She doesn't mind. I'm more worried about the safety of the baby I guess. She doesn't go in the room but Idk I just switched over from smoking and smoking = bad cuz it sticks to stuff . Vaping maybe safe?

@vapeju Incase you don't know it, the RED letters E, V, and C in @MyMagicMist's post are links to studies done in the UK. There is some good reading there and should calm any fears you may have. Good for you that you're asking the question. Sounds like you will be a good dad!

Here's where I could expound on some thoughts and beliefs but won't.
I would consider vape station(s) inside, using air purifier(s).

Here's yet another link with good info:
In this article, the author concluded: "Does that necessarily mean that vapers should feel free to vape everywhere without regard to the wishes of others? No!"
While I certainly agree with that stance, IMO it should nevertheless also be noted that a lot of people who are not smokers nor are vapers do not necessarily always respect the wishes of others either. Google for scented products health or fragranced products health if you don't know what I am referring to. Add the fact that there also exist a lot of people who, like me, are HSP (Highly Sensitive Person). And, no, being HSP is not the same as being oversensitive, or thin-skinned─which I can prove. But, even though I can prove it, there are still those who simply don't give a shit, as stinking up the whole sushi bar with an overdose of atrocious deodorant has not legally been banned in my country. That is, very unlike vaping inside a vape shop. This all led me to believe that to find some real respect these days you gotta move to a place called Mars.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I've decided to also cover the air conditioning vent/door with a heavy blanket and only blow out the window. I'm disabled and it's extremely hard to go outside. With those articles I do feel a lot better.

Sometimes, I don't know if I'd rather be around folks that stink of cigarette smoke, or too much perfume. Both stink. However, I have never been able to tell that someone vapes just from their odor.

Chew on that.

Just ask yourself if you want your unborn child to vape, and you'll have your answer.

I make a respectful attempt to do this. That noted, if there's no respect offered back I say to myself "fuck 'em" and vape right there anyway. Respect is a two way street. I usually give respect out freely in liberation, until, ... proven someone doesn't warrant it.

How does someone prove they no longer warrant my respect?

Good question. First they can do stuff on my moral, ethical no no list. Secondly, they can not give me respect in reciprocation. Third, generally being an assbutt.

Having been a pregnant woman three times, and a smoker right through three pregnancies, I'll weigh in.

If said pregnant woman objects to your vaping in her vicinity, I have no doubt that you'll know it, tout de suite. You might get your head handed to you on a plate, but hey, that's the risk you take.

I know, it's not a joking matter, but seriously, she'll let you know how she feels about it. And I presume that you know her pretty well to even be asking the question. It might be one of those cases where, if you have to ask, then really, deep inside, you already know the answer.

^^^^^ All the Way!

Frankly, I do not believe vaping around a pregnant woman poses any risk at all - however arguing with a pregnant woman whom feels differently would be foolhardy at best

OK... waste of time reading this (I guess) but still had some simple advice...
With AC (and air coming in through the vent) just crack the window open and blow the vape out. Unless you are chain vaping at 150 watts that should work fine.

Also keep in mind that not all AC systems give the ability to let fresh outside air come in through the vent. E.g., the combination of an indoor unit and an outdoor unit normally doesn't, as this isn't a true HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system. So, it has a setting to allow the fan to operate and create some wind, just like any other fan, but this fan doesn't suck in any outdoor air, when the only connection between the outdoor unit and it is via a pump mechanism that works similar to a fridge. Whereas a true HVAC system normally moves air through one or more ventilation shafts, or air ducts usually across multiple rooms spread throughout an apartment or building in such a way that it gives the possibility to let outdoor air be mixed into the circulation loop at a rate that can also be adjusted somehow.

That said, as technology continues to evolve, more and more modern-advanced features keep being added to affordable indoor units that aren't true ventilation systems like how I described. One such feature is the ability to turn on a built-in ionizer device. This works surprisingly well for me. I chuck big clouds, and, I also own a Dyson Pure Cool (2018 model) air purifier, which comes with an app that lets me closely monitor air quality factors including PM2.5/PM10 (fine dust) via optical digital sensor. Vapor is not the same as fine dust of course, but the sensor still does a pretty good job at detecting vapor, and does so regardless of whether the vapor is still visible or the vapor has faded.

With the ionizer that's inside the Daikin Perfera (2020 model) AC indoor unit turned on and it blowing at low-medium speed, my vapor actually disappears from the air inside my room incredibly fast. I still also leave my window open, though, as ionizers don't really purify air and can in fact produce certain types of pollutants that may slowly build up within the air and grow to concentration levels where they may pose another health concern. In any event, such an ionizer is shitloads more economically feasible than keep clogging the HEPA filter in the Dyson up with gallons of Vegetable Glycerin.

I also still own my Avatar VapeNut. It has the benefit of being fairly portable, and, if you can put it in the bottom of a wardrobe for coats, you can open the door of the wardrobe, stand right in front of the wardrobe before you blow your cloud inside the wardrobe so the cloud starts to float down toward the VapeNut as you continue to exhale. Next quickly close the wardrobe before the cloud strikes the bottom. Wait a couple of minutes, and repeat. The smoke alarm won't go off in your hotel room and you gain the extra benefit of not being forced to blow clouds out through the open window, in situations where blowing through an open window might not always be possible or ideal choice to make, etc..

The trolls reviving these threads are just the same type of garden variety trolls you might see on FB groups regarding politics (which we can't talk about). Just like my brother and sister, it's always one-sided. They would not even include our own mother if she was going to smoke (when she did) or vape (after she quit smoking). Both are still extremely against any type of nicotine use, but not over health reasons.

Both are extremely overweight. They don't exercise, eat balanced diets, or anything else that doctors would recommend. They work sitting on their butts, go home, and lounge about. That's their lifestyle. Yet, vaping is somehow worse?

At 5'10" and 158 lbs, I have a bmi of about 24. I am active and fit, especially so for a disabled woman in her mid 50s who had back surgery. I smoked for 34 years before switching to vaping. Their solution: see me once maybe twice a year. They saw our own mother only 3 to 4 times a year because of that.

Disinformation and flat out lies regarding vaping are fucking it all up for all of us, on all levels. The ones that really need to know the truth are too stubborn to read it or hear it. When they have the audacity to come to VU to post their bullshit, it all depends on what mood I am in at the moment as to how I will respond, if I respond when I see it.

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter

In your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey
What's in your head, in your head
Zombie, zombie, zombie, hey, hey, hey, oh

No way to say it clearer. Might add a bit, yet it is tempting to let the songs say it as they say it, so well.

We need to embrace all of us. Total inclusion is the only way to set it all right.

Rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief, /... black man, red man, white or yellow man, ... /woman, man, in-between, matters not because we all end as gray dust, like the gray of tombstones./ To my belief, we all need welcomed hugs./ We all need to stand to stop the grief./ We have to understand, there is no justice with them and us./ Likewise, we need to know that only comes from just us./ No more war. No more anger. No more fear. No more ignorance./ The candle, lit, shall pass it on and rest a bit.

In case it was not clear, ... no more "sides" anymore. We are a human race. Racism is me telling @f1r3b1rd he has the snout of a pig and legs of a gopher put on a lion's torso and all the while trying to pass as human. I do no such thing beyond here and now to illustrate what racism is. Now its known. Tony my brother, love you. *hug* We are all human. There are no sides, tribes, colors, faiths, politics, left, right, ... just us. Let us have justice. With justice we get peace.

This I think is an idea whose time has come. As Victor Hugo stated, you don't stop that. I know I can be dismissed as egalitarian, idealistic, maybe naive. You can not dismiss us all. People, all people, are now wanting justice and peace. No more war. We are done and it is done.

*snaps his sword over his knee and shoves the hilt portion into the ground*

*turns, fades from sight*
