I kind of panicked and returned my machine to the original factory settings and that got rid of all the crap. I have no idea where I picked all of that up...I really haven't even surfed very much on this laptop yet. but I will download all the programs you suggested and run them religiously. hopefully I will not have any more problems like that.![]()

Oh, yeah. Zonealarm. get the free version and run that too.
That way if you inadvertently get a trojan it can't call home to get the payload.
I know what your box got infected with - been there done that.
I just can't remember what it's called. But those ads in the screen you posted was the giveaway.
It's not really dangerous it's just underhandedly sneaky shit.
