Even the Adobe Reader updates try to trick you into installing McAfee (bloatware, which is un needed & bogs down your comps resources) you need to be careful and read everything before you hit "accept" and un check the "install "X" program with Adobe" icon.
Yep.

ALWAYS do a custom install and review EVERYTHING that is checked by default!

This site is clean & the free one is almost as good as the paid one.
Only difference between the two is the paid version has real time protection which will block potentially bad sites or files from being anywhere near your computer.
The free one will pick up any bugs the paid one will, updates the anti malware database version bi daily, and it's Free :)

Another good program that is kinda off the Radar but does pick up many things is
http://www.superantispyware.com/
But be careful there are other programs that sound just like it you could fix all your problems or most and forget Windows and just run LINUX or a UNIX variant of some type but then again you may have problems if you are a gamer well you will have problems but then again a little suffering may make one learn more about computing so I am saying no more.

Oh, sorry I'm distracted lately. After 98 came XP, then Vista, then Win 7, then Win 8, then 8.1, then
I'm out of breath already..then they're coming out with 10
and there's a bunch of iterations of all of the above..phew...
Do I get an A now? ...boy , almost messed that up with bad spelling...phew
That's it, XP. Jeez, I'm demented. It was a nice one in it's time, XP Pro. He had it for chemical engineering school until he upgraded to a new Mac.

I got a cheap Chromebook for social media stuff and so far, so good. Their servers manage everything, upgrades, security. I know some people scoff at them but for this it's been good. Of course, for other things you're gonna want and need something more. Has anyone heard anything negative about them?
