Used to I never left the house without my cell phone and cigarette case. I'd forget my ass if it wasn't nailed on, but NEVER leave without the phone and the smokes (and usually a spare pack too).....the phone went over the visor and the cig case laid on the seat beside me.
This morning was our first day open at work since our little "mini blizzard" here in east Tennessee. Main roads in town are okay, but the mountains and backroads where we live are still pretty bad. I was thoroughly ticked anyway, simply because one more day would thaw a lot of this mess out and make for safer travels tomorrow. But that didn't happen, so my morning started out using a windshield ice scraper for a shovel to plow through the snow behind my car in the driveway. After several attempts to back out of said icy, snowy driveway, I finally made it to the icier road. I'm slowly crunching and sliding to the end of our road and make it to the mailboxes - about a quarter mile from the house - and I'm determined to check the mail cuz I know there's vape stuff for me. Got back in the car and lo and behold, I'm friggin stuck. Can't go forward, can't go backward, sliding all over the place....I'm pissed. And after calling my boss a few descriptive words while wishing him a case of bloody diarrhea, I caught myself reaching over to the passenger seat.....for my cigarettes. Haven't smoked since November and certainly haven't reached for that cigarette case till this morning in a fit if anger. At that moment I wanted one so bad I could taste it. And honestly it's the first time that's happened since I quit a few months ago. Of course I grapped my vape and went to town on it, but I was just really surprised that the "urge" hit me like that, so strongly. Guess I just thought I was over it.....but I do hope it never hits me again.....
