So ya guys and gals got me....Imma dive in head first into diy eliquid crafting.

Having a chemistry degree (and only use it for drinks on the weekends :D ) I'm actually pretty pumped.

What recommendations from the community do you suggest as a first time purchase? The basics Is what I'm looking for that will serve a general purpose to get comfortable with the process.

Thanks for the guidance In advance.

I bought a starter kit from Nude Nicotine to get started with making my own juice. I ordered the $50 kit it came with 5 flavors as well.

What do you need? IMHO, nic, VG, PG, 1,3,10 ml syringes, bottles (lots of bottles) and flavoring. You can do a lot of damage with just those things.

I also am about ready to dive in and would like to ask a couple questions. I hope it is OK I post them here, if I should have done something different pls. educate me I am a new member to this site and spend little time on forums until I started vapeing. I know one of the flavors I want to do is a Earl Grey. This is one of my favorite morning and day time vape. I have debated between doing it two different ways.
1. Buy FA flavoring and make it that way. Probably with some Honey and maybe a little cream or,

Sorry hit a wrong key and it posted. The second would be to use real tea and do it as a natural extraction similar to methods I have seen to do NET Tobacco. Which will give best results

You can post anywhere you'd like. No apologies necessary.

Why not both? That way you can find out for yourself the differences between the two. I find tinkering to be some of the fun of this hobby.

I personally wouldn't waste time extracting Earl Grey or any other tea. TFA's Earl Grey is a reasonable flavoring, but you can do better if you mix one yourself (FA Black Tea, Orange, Bergamot). Bergamot is that fragrant part of Earl Grey. If you use FA Honey, go really-really light. It's super strong. As little as 0.25% can be too much for a cuppa tea.

For tea in general, I think TFA makes the best Green Tea, and FA makes the best Black Tea. Both are really accurate flavors, and none of the mess of extracting leaves.

FA bergamot - I think that's the right one? I used to drink Earl Grey all the time!
FA Bergamot and FA Black Tea
0.5 % Bergamot
2.0 % BlackTea
0.25% Mandarin Orange

Substitute FA Lemon Sicily for the Mandarin Orange if you want a bit more lemon/bergamot taste.

Thankyou all who posted answers to my question about Earl Grey. I will be ordering stuff to make this and one or two other flavors this week. Will let you all know how my first attempt at DYI goes. I imagine I will become a regular on the DIY threads as I tend to go all out when I undertake something. On another newbie question, should I start working on a recipe for an RY4 or would this be trying to run before I can even crawl?

I have learned so much by reading though the flavor art thread. Huckleberry, HIC and others share so much information. I also have been reading through the recipe section a lot. Also spend some time on other threads. The reason I am hesitant about an RY4 as a newbie is by looking at the recipes and trying a few vendor flavors there is a lot of difference in what people call a RY4. Whith things like Strawebery MIlk recipes they do no vary near as widely in taste or ingredients. I think I will start with some of my other favorites like Strawberry Champagne, English Toffee and Earl Grey Tea are some of my favorites that seem easier to get down as a newbie.

A note on my new Avatar photo. It is a blind man with a cane. I chose this because I am currently legally blind and have in the past been to the point where I could only see a little light. I use a 52 inch TV as my monitor so I can use my computer. I thought about choosing The Blind Vapor as my screen name but I did not do it. Not saying this for pity or anything but just wanted to encourage anyone to try new things like DIY no matter what they think their limitations are. Everybody have a good night
