Looking for a good top air flow RTA

I want a top air flow RTA that is DL style of vaping (but not really high wattage) Single or dual coil (that is easy to build) I have building skills but mounting dual coils that share the same mounting holes is a pain in the ass. I know it's getting hard to find stuff (without ordering from China) 8 vape has a few I'm interested in (please take a look but don't swoop them up before I get a chance)

Tell you more about MR?
Single coil is easier to hit target resistance. IE if wanting .3, duals would have to be .6 ea. so we're looking for custom unless we build coils ourselves, or using something simple like single wire, twisted, I suppose a clapton wouldn't be that hard to make,
Easy to build, easy to wick.
Of course no seeps or leaks.
Great RTA, a flavor rta.
Matte Black

Feedback on Arbiter 2 is good.

Watched a few reviews of the Juggerknot Mini MR... I like it very much!
So do I order it from QP (canada)? If so, how much is shipping? Is adult signature required (and extra fee for that)? What shipping method do they use? I really want this!!!

I can tell a wee bit more af between a 2.5id and a 3. Anything 2.0-3.0 - 3.0 means thin tails more. The wicking ports are smaller that one would think it would have. I use just a nub of wick long enough to go to bottom of port. My coil is this high atm but that's forgiving. It can be lower.

Any coil that fits, with in mind that the lower Ω the hotter it might get.
I've used .22- .7 all with great results. Usually .3- .43 range with what I have.

So now I'm looking into coils for this RTA (thinking of trying WireOptim)
Want either Kanthal or N80. Simple 2 core fused claptons (for now) 3mm
They have N80 but out of stock of the 6 wrap (around the resistance I want) 5 wrap might work (0.29 ohms) but the Kanthal 5 wrap is 0.36 ohms (sounds great)
My question about wraps... I have to consider the width of the coil (how will it fit the RTA build deck)
For now (until I order pre-wrapped coils) I have what appears to be a Kanthal 2 core fused clapton (3mm) at 6 wraps (someone gave me some coils but with no info so I'm guessing) This will also help me decide what I need before ordering.

QP MR is a great rta and qp is a good company. Shipping wasn't too bad, my last order from them required signed signature. I'm waiting on a couple sc meson rtas. Personally I prefer the flavor with a 2.5mm id. I use tricore clapton 5-6 wrap ss or ni80/90. Comes in 0.3-0.35, I stay in the 23-25w range. Primarily mix fruit, yogurt, cheesecake with an occasional coffee, caramel, chocolate and/or creams. Wire Optium winds good coils. They also sell the clapton spools. Doubt you'll be disappointed with a mr, dead easy to coil and wick.

@Letitia9 (I remember you from ECF) Thank you. I'm really set on a 3mm coil, but might consider 2.5mm. Tri-core clapton... yes, considering that too. Also... yes, considering just getting a spool.

If you prefer a warmer sweeter vape a 3mm coil will suit you well.

So I am going to try a few of both (and for some other rebuildibles) Have not tried a 2.5mm coil... but I am interested. Have to go (will talk more later)

I feel like a 3mm will have more wick (large wick passages) but most video reviews suggest really thinning the wicks for that (maybe a 2.5mm with a slightly fluffed wick does sound good) I do know that you don't want the coil too low (needs air flow) I like restricted DL at less than 50 watts (even 30 watts sounds fine)
Don't like too warm of vapor.

Yeah, you'll need your coil up "off" the deck to get airflow.
  • I like being simple, 3 mm ID 5 - 7 wraps of 26 awg (gauge) Kanthal wire. I don't do anything fancy.
  • Likewise, I do not use Claptons, twisting.
  • My coils usually run from 0.30 - 0.50 Ω.
  • In using mechanical mods, I average about 24 Watts, maybe 28 on a "fresh" charged battery.
My vape experience is a gently warm vape that isn't scalding hot. I like restricted DL vaping, that is accounted for by adjusting air flow via the top cap.

Minor nudge here. It's not a "tank" like you want, but I am doing well with a Dead Wabbit V3 RDA. I got a rainbow-colored one despite my wife protesting for a red one. Link is just informational.

I've actually been impressed by the Dead Wabbits. Got a V1 around somewhere.

Apologies for coming in late. You seemed in good hands. :) My post here is just a silly guide post, take or leave as suits you.

I have 26 ga and still like making my own coils with round wire (very good at that) I might get some 24 ga round wire too.

24 is good to go as well. Saw your other posting/thread. Really not much for me to add other than an obvious statement.

"You put your legs into the post holes. Whatever distance between them is what you got."

I didn't think that was quite hm, appropriate, really. Might even say it is a bit smart ass to say. Did not want to be that way, either. Hmm, I'm just straight forward and simple about most stuff. Although, I can and do get lost over thinking a fair bit.

Have to resist that, over thinking, that is. Doing it often drives me to irritability as I see how "stupid" other folks seem, or how much drama they create for no reason. I got a low, very low tolerance of bs. Granted, I can sling it real well.

I do not intentionally deceive. May spin a yarn, but it is understood it's a tale. Sometimes I load tales with lessons, morals, ... other times they're like games, tell lie vision, ... simply distracting entertainments.

Well, I could talk/text your ear off. Think I'll digress & refrain, though.

I finally built it (QP juggerknot MR) 2-core fused clapton, 3mm ID, N80, 5 wraps.
Love it. Coil came out to 0.32 ohms and running it at 36 watts (tried 40 watts but too hot) I like restricted DL (this is perfect) actually using it with the airflow wide open.
Special thanks to @Vape Fan đź‘Ť and WIREOPTIM for good affordable coils.

I tested this on my good dual battery mod (Vaporesso Revenger X... love that thing) It's too big for my single battery mod (Kanger Kbox mini 60 watt)... works fine but overhang, so I got out my old school Kbox 40 watt (only needed 35 watts anyway) It fits perfect (no overhang) but when I hit the fire button, the LEDs just blinked (yes, this is the classic one with just LEDs... no screen) Just looked it up and it can't do anything under 0.4 ohms LOL No worries... I actually have two of the Kbox mini 60 watt and don't want to keep swapping tanks so I will just live with the overhang (have my entire life... woops TMI)
It goes through juice quick (that just means it's wicking great)

I sure wish it wasn't so hard to find vape gear from a few years ago. That Juggerknot would go so great with a Squid Detonator.

I really love this mod. Wish I could find new ones.
(That reminds me, I seen Lyra's in stock for $25, not that I'm getting one, just thinkin' :) )
It's just a tad shorter than my flattened palm and fingers fit around it just right. Those rounded corners, and that button placement>popped out from the rest of the body, and convex, make is super comfortable to hold and fire. In hand the front and back feel the same so either hand, finger or thumb, just feels natural. Even the bottom mode button and up/down are clicky and easy to hit without pressing 2 at once. And...the retro look. Fits and looks good up to 28mm too.

Hey '60, you might be interested in a mod I have to fit that MR. It's touch screen too. I can take a little off if you like it.

I looked all over the place for a Sirius mod, several different times. Compromised on two Lyras that were $25 each from Wetvapes. Both Lyras kicked the bucket after about four months, and within a week of each other. Made me wonder if Wetvapes bought a batch of customer returns and neglected to identify them as such.

Glad I didn't buy any then, and there's that 20% off too.
IKD, maybe there was a FW update, but still, 4 mo - that's pretty sad.

I was terribly disappointed, because they were nice mods and seemed very well made, and I had been really excited about getting them.

Right. The first one, Sirius, had one FW update to keep it from 5 clicks back on after 15min or so. Other than that great. Too bad they only did those 2 mods iirr
