Back home for a week. I woke up yesterday and my back was totally tweeked. I only left my hotel room briefly to get stuff out of the rental. I was able to make it through the airport/luggage thing, but I'm paying the price now. I think some bourbon is in order, purely medicinal of course...

My back goes out for no reason sometimes just like you explained, wake up and OMG.
Well yeah, all bourbon is medicine, that's why they put it in a glass bottle:giggle:

Ooh ooh, easy word match to the word "the" for a song I've been saving.

The Passenger
-Iggy Pop feat. Emily the Strange

I don't know when Emily the Strange entered my consciousness. Certainly it was long after those "painful years" many of us go through. As an adult she is the only character whose graphic novels I have bought. The first time I saw this image, I knew she was an avatar of my soul, or at least the soul of my adolescent self. This is me, in my room, and in middle school I had my room done up so weird that people would get scared. I wish I'd been as skinny as Emily. She was/is happy being a misfit, surrounded by her music and her kitty, glad to be alone. I was dreaming of getting older, losing my baby fat and fitting in, dreaming of having lots of friends. But we had the same meditation and medication, Emily and I: music.

So it's interesting to me that Iggy Pop licensed his song to Emily's creator, Rob Reger.

And now I'm going to do what Saturdays are made for: I'm going back to bed.

I hope you're feeling better now.

May be an image of text that says 'MY MIND IS LIKE MY INTERNET BROWSER 19 TABS OPEN 3 OF THEM ARE FROZEN AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THE MUSIC IS COMING FROM...'

The Story of Isaac
-Pain Teens

An angelic rendering of the Leonard Cohen song, but it ends at 3:45. Boob tubers do the weirdest things. This one used the wrong cover art for the release, and after the 3:45 added on another piece from a different release.

Anyway, some have said this song is about how human sacrifice stopped in the space of a few hundred years throughout most of humanity, but Cohen himself said the song was about the vanity of attributing to God the schemes we make up ourselves, including human sacrifice, including wars.

Lyrics, Leonard Cohen's "The Story of Isaac"

The door it opened slowly
My father he came in
I was nine years old
He stood so tall above me
His blue eyes they were shining
And his voice was very cold

He said, "I've had a vision
And you know I'm strong and holy
I must do what I've been told"
So we started up the mountain
I was running, he was walking
His ax was made of gold

The trees they got much smaller
The lake a lady's mirror
We stopped to drink some wine
Then he threw the bottle over
It broke a minute later
And he put his hand on mine

I thought I saw an eagle
But it might have been a vulture
I never could decide
Then my father built an altar
He looked once behind his shoulder
He knew I would not hide

You who build the altars now
To sacrifice these children
You must not do it anymore
A scheme is not a vision
And you have not been tempted
By a demon or a god

You who stand above them now
Your hatchets blunt and bloody
You were not there before
when I lay upon a mountain
my father's hand was trembling
With the beauty of the word

And if you call me brother now
You'll forgive me if I inquire,
Just according to whose plan?

When it all comes down to dust
I will kill you if I must
I will help you if I can

When it all comes down to dust
I will help you if I must
I will kill you if I can

Have mercy on our uniform
Man of peace or man of war
The peacock spreads his fan

Never heard that one before. So sad, beautiful and poetic. I looked up the lyrics.
Listening to the whole Genesis Trick Of The Tail album- great album. Lucky one of the songs fit the game.
Besides loving heavy metal, hard rock and hair bands, I love prog bands too!
