May be an image of tree and text that says 'One tree can start a forest; One smile can begin a friendship; One hand can lift a soul; One word can frame a goal; One candle can wipe out darkness; One laugh can conquer gloom; One hope can raise our spirits; One touch can show you care; One life can make a difference, Be that one today. I took the night off to spend the last night with Emma.
She's gone down hill the last few months. She's lost 7 pounds since last month, but the last 6 months she's lost around 20 pounds. She hasn't been able to jump onto the couch or jump off this past week; also not walking too well, she's limping, stumbling while walking, vomiting up her food, and she doesn't want me out of her sight. She'll start barking, well kinda barking, when I'm out of her sight. She also has stopped chasing, more like walking, after her ball, no interest in her ball at all.
She will be put to rest Monday around 1:30pm. It's been really hard losing Duke, now losing Emma  . I know she won't be in any pain and I keep on telling this to myself. Also know, when the time is right, not by our choice, there will be another doggie that will need help and we'll be here for whenever that time comes.
Tomorrow, I may not be on here. Going to fix her a big breakfast with eggs, sausage, hamburger, afterwards She'll have some cottage cheese and some treats.
(Edit: Also, having a hard time going to sleep)

Hope everyone has a good day and @Jimi I know you will be overwhelmed with doing everything, just remember to breathe. Hugs Love and Prayers for you and Jean

Awww so sorry , hardest part of being a pet owner, but you are doing the right thing and soon she will be playing with Duke in doggie heaven.
We are all here for you and sending thoughts and prayers to you for strength and comfort and healing my friend.

Jimi, sorry I missed you all day yesterday. I was logged in early, then every time I got back to the computer you were on nurse/cook/housekeeper/caregiver duty, then finally retired for the evening.

I know you're managing, not having an easy time. I'm wishing you peace and strength, and good health to both of you.

For Goph getting to the end of endless work and travel, for Jimi giving loving care to his hurt wife, for 2WhiteWolves suffering with losses in her pet family, for Snap navigating the ceremony of putting to final rest her lost loved ones:

All My Trials Lord (soon be over)

Hope I didn't leave anybody out. If I did, I'll come back and edit.

It's a forgotten favorite that started sounding in my heart, seeing what all of my music friends here are going through, all at the same time. We sang it in church choir, but the lyrics PP&M used are altered. We sang "if faith were a thing that money could buy" (not "if religion were a thing that money could buy"), and I prefer the word faith because it doesn't require any religion to have faith in each other, faith in our love, faith that we can do better with the future than we've done with the past. "Hush little baby don't you cry" is missing from the PP&M version too, and I think there was a stanza that included "the Jordan River is chilly and cold, it chills the body but it warms the soul".

It doesn't matter. An old song like that, public domain, will get changed. The original name of it was "Bahamian Lullabye". The Bahamas have a unique typical music that is very much like our southern gospel music. Here's another beauty from the Bahamas. I actually have this Smithsonian Folkways CD around here somewhere.

I love music. It's more comforting than any drink, any drug, anything.
