The brand name too, if you please.

You cooked it for an hour ?!?!? I guess it did soften up, but I'll withold further barbs until I know more about what product you used. I'm glad it tasted great.
Ok it was 200 calories but I'll haveta dig again to get the brand ;)

Is an hour too long? I've never cooked pasta of any kind before so it was a shot in the dark  , Jean said just cook it till it was soft.

LOL....Yes, an hour is way tooooo long. Jean is correct. Stir it every few minutes, I always take a piece out about 20 minutes of cooking it, and eat it to see if it's soft. If not soft keep on cooking for another ten minutes, repeat until it's soft. Anyhoo, that's the way I do it.

To comment further I'd have to know what product it was. Generally for a spaghetti or macaroni I would boil water, add the pasta and salt, lower the heat to simmer, and cook it for 10-15 minutes, even less time for angelhair or vermicelli. I would expect that boiling it for an hour would turn it into mush, but again, I don't know what ingredients are in the pasta you used.

@Smigo who started the cooking thread always said the important thing is that it tasted good.

I know you're bravely forging ahead with your new responsibilities, and that is the admirable thing Jimi.

Wow way too long, surprised it wasn't mush by then- I like my pasta on the soft side which is usually 15- 20 minutes, like @2WhiteWolves said- have a sieve ready and put a few strands in it taste it to see if soft enough for you. Clif tried to surprise me once with homemade turkey soup, yikes he added the egg noodles in the beginning and cooked it for hours- the noodles were completely disintegrated and stuck to the bottom of the pot- plus the huge mess in the kitchen, no more surprises for me, lol!

-Patrice Villastrigo

This is a local artist who cannot sing, but everybody loves her. Other well known and successful artists collaborate with her. She has released two CD's. Her enthusiasm and originality are infectious.

Her first CD cover may have something to do with the willingness of our more capable musicians to work with her.

Boy I did over do it, no wonder the water was so murky white  Thank you my Friend, next time I'll do better. But it did get soft, pretty soft, maybe a tad too soft but I ate it, men will eat anything  :giggle:
