That rapid sucking juice gig works really well, LOL.
Isn't it cool how taste will change over time? I've had that same reaction with some flavors I couldn't taste in the past, or even some I didn't care for at all. Marzipan is one of those. I couldn't get into it, initially, had to re-up to a 30ml.

It is! I'm glad I didnt ship it off to the fellow I gave my other flavors to. It works so well with every fruit I have (13 of em) and is great on it's own. I'm starting to detect that theres too much flavor now. It burns a bit XD

Ah. Yeah, I do know what you mean by that burn. And with the nic, too. I was following all that, and have a very similar experience with the nic from WL. All the suggestions for VT are good ones. I get the throat hit nic, and it's very mild. WL, in comparison, is like being punched in the throat. I had a small bottle of juice in my purse made with WL nic, I totally forgot that it was, and OMG I had a big coughing fit. I've replaced that since, lol.

Bummer deal. I'm going to get the 15ml bottle of the VT nic. Figure it will make me like 500 ml's of base for a few bucks so it's a good deal. Doesnt take much to go from 100mg/ml to 3mg/ml lol.

So I got the VT nic in today. Ran downstairs and mixed up a 6mg 50/50 with 7% TPA strawberry (ripe) and 5% TPA Peach (Plain), It tastes different and I'd dare say better. No peppery taste...but I still cough. Getting close to my witts end here XD On a side note, I went into my cupboard and found a large bottle of stuff I mixed well over a month ago. It's a 50/50 6mg/ml Blueberry candy + Cheesecake (Graham crust) mix, but I cant recall the percentages of flavor. Nice and light brown color. Doesnt make me cough anywhere near as much and it's the old nic. Any thoughts?

try vaping only pg based and then only vg based..
you might have an allergy somewhere.

If I mix up 80vg/20pg or 70vg/30pg the coughing is less, though I considered that was a given being that VG is generally smoother to inhale (in most cases). Most of what I've been able to handle is 70/30 and up. The thing is I have like no flavor with such high VG. I'm trying to do this DIY thing to enjoy the flavors I make, and it especially becomes an issue when I try to make something with 2 or more flavors. They just melt together in the thick VG and are destroyed by the sweetness. Vendor 50/50 juices didnt make me cough, and nothing I sample in the local store here does either (Usually 50/50 mixes). It has to be something I'm personally using. Now I'm down to either having bad PG or something's up with my flavoring, though I couldnt imagine that would be the case.

I'm remembering something. THe first PG I ordered was from My freedom smokes. When I started DIY I never had a coughing problem. The second stuff I ordered was from Wizard Labs. I put the bottle of wizard labs PG into what was left from MFS and used that combined PG to make my bases, which is when (I think) this problem began to surface. Is it even remotly possible that my wizard labs PG was bad somehow?

Ohhhh. Yeah, my first PG order was from WL, pretty harsh stuff!. I get mine from VT or Bull City now. A lot of people like Essential Depot. Amazon also sells that brand.

Fantastic! We're getting somewhere. Since we're on that topic I followed your advice smokey. I made two 3ml bottles with 5% Vienna cream, one was 100% pg the other was like 95% VG. Strangely enough I could vape both without much effort. So that was an unexpected result. Being that someone else has now vouched that wizards PG can be unpleasant I'm going to get an order for PG in somewhere else. Im not sure about any of you but taking a taste of my PG straight tastes like what antifreeze smells like. Poison and all XD

Mine definitely has an odd flavor, but not horrible. Just very different from VG, lol. Whereas VG is slightly sweet, PG just has a warm, dry feel. Slightly bitter.

I am allergic to pg.. its been ages since i ordered from wl..
and i do use a private source for vg and nic..

there are a ton of companies out there that make vg/pg.. you will need to find the best one for you.
wish i could help more.. but you are on the right path.. keep looking around. :)

Got the Essential depot PG in today. The difference is extraordinary. This new PG has virtually no odor whatsoever and tastes (from a finger) much less like vehicle fluids. I'm gonna vape a test batch here once I re-coil my subtank. Hope for the best!

Yep, you were right Huck, This is night and day! I'm gonna send wizard labs a message letting them know they ruined over a month of my vaping experience XD Not really, but I'm gonna mention to them that this batch of PG was horrible. Maybe they'll make it right somehow. Thanks to all who helped me find my way through this issue!!

Very happy for you that you're finding something that's working better for you. It's horrible having to experience things like this, but so rewarding once it's figured out. I went through the same things when I discovered I have to keep the VG low. Congrats, man. :)

Could be. Before I tried VT I used MFS and WL. To me they were both pretty close to same thing.
If you do give VT a try... you won't go anywhere else. I was amazed.
I didn't want to believe the hype but it is as good as everyone says.
VT Nic came in today. No time to mix tonight so I have to wait another 24 hours. I hope you'reright. Of that's the case I've got two bottles of MFS Nic and WL Nic (48 mg) in the freezer up for trade. I'll post in the correct forum.

I don't know why but the way you wrote this made me crack up. It brought me back to the days of working on cars with an old stinky hanging out of my mouth, covered in whatever vehicular fluids i had come into contact with. I'm happy you figured it out. I myself am still struggling with my experimental adventures in DIY.

Thanks :) My first test was with my sweet and tart. For some reason that mixed with the nasty PG was an instant coughing fit. I was so let down, sweet and tart is one of my favorite flavorings. Fruit + malic acid just doesnt quite come close to it. It's smooth as butter now even at 60/40. The sad part is I have to donate nearly 170ml of base.

I think the MFS Nic is just fine. I'll have to make a bottle using it now that I have the good PG and see if theres any difference. The VT Nic is quite clean though.

:)

What issues are you having?

Well it's primarily percentages of my mixes and achieving the flavor I want. I've got a couple good recipes so far but I think I tried to run before I could walk. I've got about 50 flavors and I intend to test each one on its own. Which may take a while.

I suspect to some extent we all sorta did that lol. They say to start low, and add small amounts at a time, as it's easier to add more flavor than to take some away. And starting with single flavors until you find the exact % you enjoy before you start trying to combine them. These are the things I've been told :)
