need some advice

hey guys, im currently running a ipv v2 50w box with a aspire Atlantis. i want to upgrade to a rda but im not sure if its going to be worth it since i only have a 50w device. im looking to get more vapor production but not sure if 50w is going to do it. any advice would be great thanks guys.

Vapor volume and density is achieved with greater coil surface area... primarily from thicker, denser lower resistance wire. Greater surface area is supported by wattage to produce an adequate (warm - warmer - warmest you can stand ;) ) heat flux value for that build.

You can obtain high heat flux value with modest wattage... very modest, but it won't be over a large surface area. To do both, you will need higher wattage. How much wattage is based on what you feel is sufficient for those two primary values... heat flux and surface area.

A comparison (click link for SE build data):
You can come at this from a variety of directions... but there's no way around the need for wattage, as surface area, heat flux or both are increased.

But go to Angelcigs and get yourself a $5 RDA, give it your best shot and see for yourself.

I agree with that comment... save for one issue. Depending on the amount of heat generated, a cheap RDA can have it's positive post insulation damaged with deep sub-ohm builds. If you can find a $5 RDA with PEEK insulation... you're good to go.

A quick search for "PEEK insulators" at Angelcigs provided no returns (crap search engine), but looking at some of the individual listings, there are several. Not an endorsement of the RDA, but the Mephisto V2 for example, has PEEK insulators.

I have that atty from Angelcigs....it's a middle of the road atty flavor and vaporwise...but it is my favorite atty to try new builds on because it can take a beating and keep on ticking and I recommend it for the very reason @State O' Flux says :) It's a good one to start out on, it's a really easy deck to build on and you can shove several pieces of any gauge wire threw it as long as you have a device that can power whatever you want to build safely you can build it on that atty

Sorry about the poor searching system. :-(

A coil build at 0.9 Ohm is the optimal resistance for the device of yours. Take a look at http://www.steam-engine.org
