I'm basically looking for suggestions as to what kind of tanks or mods to get. I don't know what I want to get as of yet. I'm looking at mods that don't go above 50W at the moment and good tanks that would pair good with mods 50W or lower. I'm hoping to get a decent list going to so I can figure out what I want to purchase soon. :3

I would say go with a istick 50 watt, and a kanger mini sub tank.which is my go to.

Either the IPV Mini at 70 watts or the Sigelei Mini at 50 watts.

And I agree with Smokie on the Subtank Mini.

But you definitely want a mod that takes two 18650 bats, Not one!

Why 2 batteries instead of 1?
1 bat might only get you 4 to 6 hours of vape time with 2 bats guaranteed at least 12 hours.

That makes sense but then again I don't chain vape or vape a lot during the day while I'm at work. It'd be nice to have one that lasts that long but until I really start using it immensely I don't see it as a necessity. I usually vape at home a bunch or if I go out drinking.

I've been looking at the IPV Mini II Box Mod for some time now. I think that'd be a good buy for me. :)

Then all good with a one bat mod.

Don't get me wrong though. I think eventually I'll need mods that do take 2 batteries but I don't think I need one like that quite just yet. :D

I'd recommend the Sigelei 30w mini and a Kanger Subtank. I looked at the IPV mini 2 in a B&M recently and wasn't impressed with the build quality. My Sig has taken a beating and barely shows a scratch

As for the tank, you really can't go wrong with the Kanger Subtank series. I'd get the mini. It will let you use store bought coils but also give you an RBA deck should you want to get into rebuilding in the future. Plus, an added bonus is that Manger coils are super easy to rebuild with some knowhow, so hanging on to the "dead" until you start building can mean you can recoil and rewick them all for pennies

+1 for the Subtank mini - pretty good clearo vape, plus a rebuildable option if you go that route in the future.

I've recommended the iStick 50 a bunch, but I'm now hesitant to continue doing so due to all the reports of auto-firing and battery meltdowns. Would like to see some sort of confirmed fix, or confirmation that it's just happening so often because the device is so popular and not really out of line when figuring for the number in service : percentage of idiots using them ratio.

That said, I just got the iStick I ordered in February on Monday and so far, so good...haven't even charged it yet, though I'm also using my Sig box...

That would be an awesome go to then. I'll be definitely looking into the Kanger Subtanks for my next tank(s). For mods it's still up in the air. I want to find some decent reviews from different people before I really buy one. I don't want to regret what I buy. :D

I would HIGHLY recommend the vct pro tank. Might as well go with the best. I think the segelie 100 w for a mod. Would save you some money when you want to upgrade... that was my mistake

I was thinking about going to a 100W mod just to save me the trouble of having to upgrade from a 50W to that. At the same time I would like to have a 50W to have at some point but I would like to get something that I know I can use with a lot different tanks to try them out.

Then the 100 w is the way to go. Some tsnks coils go from 30 w to 100 w.

Even if you don't use the wattage, having a dual battery mod is great for battery life. I get about 1.5 days of pretty heavy use on my Sigelei 150, running about 50/50 between 30w-ish with an RDA and 15-ish on my subtank

Ipv4 may be an option temp control, 100w... Latest in terms of vapor tech imo. Remember, 100w device can also do 50w ;) temp control is nice to have if you ever want to use it although at the price point it worth it just for 100w mod....
I also seen a CHEAP 50w recently, don't know anything about it tho. The Smowell dpv-50 $27 from gearbeast. Also devices like the zna 50w clone (original was only 30w). Kbox is cheap too 40w mod like $20 but there's only a handful of preset wattage choices between the min w-40w

I agree. A 100 w is the way to go. I started with a 20 w... then to a 50 w.. then to the segelie 150. It will save you money and you will have a mod you can use for everything. I heavy vape and my 150 lasts almost 2 days.

See...I had mentioned to @SMOKIE earlier in this thread that I don't really vape that heavily as of yet which is why I wanted to go with a 50W over a 100W. Battery life to me isn't the biggest concern. Hell my MVP that I have can last a week without charging it if that tells you how much I can conserve.

For $150 you can get a 100 w mod... 2 18650 batteries.. charger and a tank. Good investment

It is better to just upsize now and get it over with in the long run. I'd rather have one mod I can use for everything and more than one tank I can switch out if I desire to do so.

I'll give those a look when I get a chance. I don't know if I want to order through GearBest from some of the reviews I've seen and my friend @Manimal3497 's experience with them. If I can find them on another site I could look into getting one of those.

Fasttech has the dvp for $31 I think. I haven't used gearbeast but don't mind ordering things from China, if I can wait

I'm experimenting with a new Chinese supplier that seems to be bending over backwards to try to get some new customers, and seems willing to stock whatever they're assured there's a market for - hit/miss on the pricing, but when it hits it's out of the park...will hopefully know within a week whether they can deliver on promises, ordered Saturday and shipped Monday...

Which supplier?

Hesitant to say a lot until I decide whether I'll be singing their praises or ripping them a new one...but they've got the most ridiculously-titled thread in the sales/promotions forum..

Hey, I can understand the hesitation of just going all out for a high wattage box in the beginning thinking at the moment you don't vape a lot so there is no need...I get it...but I also see the huge hole in my wallet from starting out with a ego, and then a couple 15 watt devices...then two Provari's thinking they were awesome till I got my CANA DNA 30 and my real DNA 30 wondering why I bought all of that stuff before instead of just going for this in the long run...then buying a handful of mechs and drippers and saying "my builds don't go above 50 watts, I am more than safe with the batteries I have...what would I need a regulated box mod for?" And then breaking down and getting a Segelei 150 because I wanted more...and then having to learn to rebuild all over again for a high wattage box mod because the way you build for it is different than a single battery mech...

You see the domino effect here? :) All these people are saying is we understand your thinking of not needing much in the beginning but I would also strongly recommend getting something like the Segelei 100 watt plus if you're thinking 50 watt box now anyways....with the dual batteries and keeping it turned down to 50 watts or below you'll get good run time off of it and that one day you get curious down the road of what it's like to crack it up you don't have to spend double the money to find out...That being said, I also recommend you purchase a back up device in the near future as accidents can happen and the last thing you want is to be caught without a vape. So, IMHO, I would go for something like the 100 watt plus and then a little ways down the road grab something on the more economical side like a 50 watt Istick so you're prepared, you have a backup, and you have all the power you'll ever need to keep you vape happy. Vaping above 100 watts is pretty much pure self indulgent cloud chasing anyways...I have yet to vape a liquid I thought tastes better over a hundred watts than under and usually the flavor I get is dry wick from forgetting to drip between hits :)

Best of luck deciding and happy vaping! :)
