Gosh, I think of country music as a great American art form, along with blues, gospel, jazz, and blues based guitar rock, the other genres that were born here. At one time or another it seems we have all posted a country music song. I could take an hour and write five pages, pointing to specific iconic artists, valid social issues that have found voice in the music, but I'll just say that country music was an early popular form in this country, and brought with it many influences from western Europe, including some of the dance forms, and from Mexico with the real rancho cowboys.I know we're not into country music too much, but some just have good lyrics.
