Bump^ this ipv4 is a huge step from the ipv3. Much more accurate readings. On my ipv3 I was running 70 watts at 3v....the ipv4 at 70 watts is 2.77v much more accurate

@Wooglin I've been thinking a lot about this and I just tested it. I'm afraid I think you've overlooked something, and it is in fact only going up to 60W

When you saw it firing at 3V, I am pretty sure that you saw that at the end of the vape, or at least during the middle. Not right at the start of the vape, when the coil was actually at 0.076. And any voltage from later in the vape is when the coil is no longer at the base resistance due to increased temperature.

I just did a test: 50J, temp at 430, dual coil coming out to 0.079. When I first press fire, it shows first 2.00V which is just over 50W. Then by a second or two later, it's increasing up to 3V as you saw.

But as soon as the coil heats up, it is no longer at 0.079 ohms. The resistance of nickel increases dramatically as the temperature increases. So when we see it at 3V the resistance will actually be more like 0.15 according to Ohms Law, assuming a max of 60W.

With other coils at higher ohms I have seen initial voltages applied that were close to 60W, but never anything over it.

So I am pretty much convinced that TC is a max of 60W as expected from specs.

If I'm missing something myself please do let me know - obviously I'd love to hear it can fire higher than 60, I just don't think there's any evidence that it can.

You are correct it is firing at a higher resistance as the coil heats up that makes sense. When I first fire it the voltage drops to 2.7 for a 1/4 second then it jumps to 3.00 volts. Good thinking.

Well mail hasn't come yet, but it just re updated as left USPS facility, a different one, in Denver at 9:43... WTF? We went back in time? Still says delivery today, but the update eliminated out for delivery. When my mail comes, if it's not here I'm calling these fuckers. Don't care if it won't get me anywhere, this shit is just obnoxious.

Yea, TC is getting better with each new mod release. My SXMini J class is just incredible, puts the DNA40 to shame. I've got an IPV4 on the way, I'm going to put it through the wringer with my dual coil NI200 dripper builds.

Build quality and feel is very nice. feels great in my hand. Very pocket friendly. Only downside so far is that you can't lock the device/standby it. But other than that it feels great and it looks very slick. Nice chip in there! Good accuracy I have noticed. Same height as the ipv3 but the width is slimmer. The metaphorical taco shell feels nice. On the other hand ipv4 is a bit heavier. But nothing too drastic

Functionally the IPV4 is a dream. I like it better than a DN40 or SX Mini for TC. It works easily and seems to be very accurate.

Intercepted the mailman. He had it. It's been tossed around to the point of the padded envelope almost ripping through the bubbles, but the box is fine. Ok. Got a 13 wrap 26ga 3mm dual reading .08-09 on my ohm reader. Time to dive into this iPV4. With no dry burning I guess I just wick, set it all up and go?

That is the way I hold mine as well. What gives me reason to think the shell may not last is I can feel it moving up and down on the ball bearings that hold it and the plastic cutout in the shell is pretty thin.

That's odd..both of mine are rock solid..
Can't budge them without taking the cover off for a batt swap..no movement at all firing either of them.....

So far so good. I ended up pulling one coil, since my ohm reader said .08-9 and the iPV read .450. Now I know where my ohm reader loses accuracy, good thing I don't build that low, lol. So it's at .930, 50J, and 420 degrees. Single 13 wrap 26ga. First time I've run a single on a Mutation X. I'd like the vape warmer, maybe a dual, don't know the upper limit for not burning a wick Fahrenheit wise. All I know is it works. First coil. Just kinda slowly tapered off in flavor, and power, and then gave the No Liquid message. No burning of my rayon at all. Definitely have tinkering to do, but yeah, this shit is cool. I need to order some 28ga for duals.

Man, I still need to find my sweet spot, will take some coiling and setting adjustment, but I'm just vaping what I have, for now. It's working, I'm leaving it at that for now, too many headaches in just getting it. Lol.

To all of you who already have one, wow, this TC is great, and I fired a kanthal build on another atty, no surprise it's great, too. To those who haven't gotten theres yet, hang in there, it's worth it. The sensation of just vaping until it cuts you off feels almost wrong, but it's gonna be a godsend to me while driving. I get more dry hits on the road than anywhere else, maybe it's punishment for dripping a driving. That should stop, now.

Regarding the screen. The mirror is a bad choice, for function, and also design. However, just comparing to my iPV Mini 2, and my iPV3 which still has the screen protector on, they're all about the same for visibility. I'm used to it, and don't find it to be too much of a nuisance, but P4Y should consider changing up their screen coverings in general for future products. Again, it doesn't seem any better or worse than the others, and really it's not a big deal. Just my .02cents.

Thanks man, I'm really pleased I got it. It's really nice. I think TC is here to stay, will be interesting to see It evolve. The SmokTCT sub ohm tank with Ni200 coils just came out, add it to the list. The fact that these new tanks are slowly all offering Ni200 is telling, regarding the direction things are going.

And yes, this forum rocks. My favorite are the forums who chastise an old question by saying to use the search feature, yet if they do, and revive an old thread, that's not cool either. Never made much sense to me. VU has remarkably stayed unlike that, which is great.

Nice link. PlastiDip can work remarkably well and be durable on a car. It should work on the iPV4.

This is off topic like heck, but when I finally rebuild my car its getting dipped lol. Now if only they could make some high temp PlastiDip that works as engine paint, RDA paint, etc. If they did that I would have a Pure Purple IPV4 and a Electric Lime Green Turbo on top with nickel coils lol.

This is the same for me as well, it wiggles a bit - movement of 2-3mm I'd guess, side to side. Has been like that most of the time I've had it, at least since day 2 or 3 (I don't recall noticing it on day 1.)

It doesn't bother me at all, but as Wooglin says could indicate that the clamshell won't last forever.

The IPV4 has been my primary mod since I had it, meaning I've been vaping on it 10+ hours a day for 10 days already. It's by no means terribly constructed, and it still looks pretty much the same as the day I got it (some scratches around the 510 but then every mod gets that.)

Well I had enough with GB. I cancelled my order and ordered from Wake And Vape. After sending my request to GB about them sending me the "silver & black" that I thought I was ordering in the first place. I was told that I was unable to do that because they were back ordered on both color options and were not expecting delivery for an additional 2-3 weeks. Add in a 3-4 week estimated delivery time after it ships and I could have been waiting an additional 5-7 weeks total lol. I told them I want a refund and ordered from Wake And Vape it came to 0.3 cents shipped for more than GB was. I may have to wait a week or maybe two but what ever as that is way less time than fucking with GB and I expect communication to be easier as well.
