So sorry to hear this, Jimi. It's sad doctors are this way and too bad they don't think like it's one of their loved ones. I'm sure it would be totally different being one of his own.
I hope Jean is ok  . Is she going back in to get stitched up again? Poor Jean :(

Woke up with a sore throat, achy, upset stomach and fever- ugh. I am rarely sick. Taking some cold meds and sleeping throughout the day. I did go grocery shopping this morning. Needed food and didn't want to maybe feel sicker in the next few days, lol!
Very warm weather here in the 70'sF.
How are you doing Jimi?
Aww, sorry you are sick :(
You get to feeling better soon, SnapDragon

Hit The Lights - Metallica

Way back before they became the full on Metallica everyone knows, ... I was invited to attend a massive party. Well, it was more like a couple dozen parties all piled in on another. LOL

Fellow had a place which sprawled 250 acres abutting National Forest and mountainside. He had all kinds of artists come in to preform live 'pop up' shows. Due to the location, these shows could not be elaborate as full stage concerts.

A lot could afford to rent a couple of flat bed trailers. It seemed those trailers got rotated among many groups, solo artists. Being outdoors and away from a lot of neighbors let the group's throw amps up to 11. (See Spinal Tap for the reference)

Heavy Metal, Rock was all blaring loud, thunderous in some cases. Metallica was just starting to get onto the 'touring' bandwagon. They got booked at our party.

I was there to help mind some discrete issues. At the same time I was told, "have fun, take breaks when you want". The guy had hired in a lot of extra security, some even wearing wings and coming in on steel horses.

So Metallica shows up on a trailer. Played two songs, everyone stood seeming froze. Someone in the band hollered out, "So, do we keep playing or what?" A huge mosh pit formed as they went on to play for what seemed hours. One of the songs was Whiplash, won a Whiplash t for being one of the few still standing after that mosh, it got shredded nearly instantly too.

Their next song was Hit the Lights. Think I remember feeling the shirt being torn off of me. It was just a wonderfully blinding happening, all a blur. Now, you'd get killed in a mosh pit, as moshing has been overrun by the wrong elements. It has lost its spirituality. I'm not the only 'old dog' what has that opinion, so, it seems a consensus.

The oldest Rolling Stone is 87 today! As a teenager, I idolized the Rolling Stones. Their gritty, soulful, bluesy sounds and their rebellious, "bad boys" image inspired me to get serious about music and form a rock group.
The oldest original member of the Rolling Stones (he left the group 30 years ago) turned 87 today! Bill Wyman was a quiet, steady presence onstage, but the way he held his Framus bass guitar, nearly upright, always got my attention. Happy Birthday, and thanks for the memories, Bill!
