Made my first E-juice. Didn't taste good : /

I usually buy my E-juice that is PG 80%/20% VG. The throat hit was good and had no problems with this.

I made my first E-juice and the after taste is not good. Also I always cough and the ratio I made is PG 60%/40% VG. So this should have less throat hit, but I cannot vape it for some reason.

This is what I used. I made 30ml juice.
PG 15.6ml (52%)
VG 12ml (40%)
flavor 2.4ml (8%)

I haven't steeped it, I just wanted to try it, and hopefully it will get better over the days, but should the throat hit be this strong? It isn't actually a throat hit, but I caugh for some reason. I don't know what's wrong.

Actually there is not much of a throat hit, but I still caugh sometimes. Is this because I haven't steeped it?
Maybe a bad coil, or didn't I mix it enough? The after taste isn't good. It looses the flavor, and it taste like nothing. cannot really explain what the after taste is like.

Lottsa variables.....

Things like "What Flavor concentrate, brand and actual flavor ?"
"Where did you get your Nic if any, Vg and Pg"
"Have you tried the Pg/Vg alone to see if it could be one of them ?"
"Did you steep in dirty socks?"... (No... just kidding ! )

Anywyas more details the better to try to help.....

Anything higher that 20vg in my mixes makes me cough. Don't know if that's what's happening for you, but it happens to me.

Oh wait. Did you use 8% of JUST that flavor??
No, I used
PG 15.6ml (52%)
VG 12ml (40%)
flavor 2.4ml (8%)

I wrote before that I haven't tried just PG and VG without the flavor since the last guy asked me if I maybe had tried that.

8% of vanilla classic is very high! You might want to take that down to around 2 or 3%?
Seriously? I acutally added from 5% to 8%. I feel like the after taste is like non, and that I cannot taste the flavor really well. But I haven't steeped it so I don't actually know. I made my first E-juice today so I would need to wait for 5 days to taste it again to see if I need more or less.

Nope, a single flavor like vanilla classic is fine to vape immediately. Try it at 2% and increase as necessary - overflavoring can have the opposite result!

I don't think that is the issue, since I have been vaping from a 80% PG before. I cannot actually understand what it could be, unless I really need to steep it. Could that be the issue? My plan is to steep it, but I wanted a quick taste too see how it was.

Nope! The FA single flavors don't change until they're combined. Shake and vape!

@Huckleberried is likely correct.

Higher VG can make me cough and your flavor percent looks too high causing the aftertaste.
I will try to use 3% flavor next time. I still caugh from it, even tho the throat hit is not strong. When I don't caugh it feels normal, but suddenly I caugh. Maybe it is because of to much flavor. could that be the issue?

But, you were vaping 20vg, now you are vaping 40vg. It might be the higher vg making you cough. Not the lower pg.

Yes! And the higher VG could well be the culprit also.

Thank you! This was my point.

And I completely agree with Amanda, that 8% of Vanilla Classic is WAY too much. FlavourArt is very concentrated flavoring. I wouldn't and haven't taken that one higher than 3%. Honestly, I can't say I've taken it to 3, even.

Good point. I will make PG 80/20 VG with 3% flavor. That ratio is what I have been using before, so if it still happens, then I know it's probably the flavor that is the problem.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help. I will make a PG 80/20 VG tomorrow with 3% flavor.

It seems that PG 80/20 VG is the best for me. I don't cough anymore, but the taste could be better. I don't taste it that much. I used 3% vanilla classic. Should I add some more, or should I wait and steep it?

I actually still get it, but it's better with PG 80%

I will try to not use flavor and get to know the VG and the PG.
i will try different ratio without the flavor. it must be the flavor that gives me the coughing. I vaped with PG 80% before without problems, and know I cough every 5 hits I take.

Should I shake the PG/VG before mixing? I did that now, and didn't use the flavor and I don't cough anymore.
So the problem was that I didn't shake the PG/VG before mixing or that I used to much flavor or that the flavor is just bad.

Sorry for the spam but i found out what the problem was. I added some flavor now, and I don't cough.
It was just that I didn't shake the PG/VG before mixing it. I did that and I don't cough anymore.
Cheers!
