I have an eleaf Istick 50w and use an authentic mutation x V3 on it. The mod itself tends to shorten out and I haven't figured out why I stopped at my local shop and said it may be that the coils needed to be tweaked the guy tweaked them and it still cuts off after a few drags then I have to jump start it with a charger. What is going on VU Fam,

Well, here is my opinion and a lot of folks here are not going to like it.

When the Istick's (the entire series) became available, everyone was really exited about them.

No surprise there at all. Nice and compact mods with all the bells and whistles at a beyond reasonable price.

And lots of pretty colors as well.

But to get to that price point, those things needed to be mass produced big time to keep the price down.

And as we all know, the Chinese have some severe issues with quality control.

And internally, the Lord only knows what kind of shortcuts they made during the design phase and construction.

Now that these devices have been out on the market for a while (and actually kind of flooding the market) and getting some heavy usage from their owners like all of our mods do (and should be capable of withstanding), wires are starting to come loose inside, covers are starting to come loose as the torx screws work their way out, any glue used in construction starts to deteriorate with age or interiour heat production and who knows what else.

So in conclusion, my guess is that your device has at least one wire that has or is in the process of becoming loose and that may well be your problem.

But again, I don't think these devices were ever intended to last forever or they would have made them to use with standard 18650 batteries in the first place (just my opinion) and your only option may be to try and take the sucker apart and figure out what has gone south.

Or when it dies completely, get another one as they are not that expensive.

Rant over now but I truly do hope you can figure out what is wrong and get it fixed:D.

If you can live with a top wattage of 30 watts, I would suggest the Sigelei 30 Watt Mini. I purchased mine on sale with the idea of only using it for a stealth device but I like it so much it has become a daily driver as well.

If you need a bit more power, I have heard great things about the IPV V2 Mini which delivers 70 watts.

And if you want to try something that also has the temp control function, the Heatvape Invader is quite good. It tops out at 50 watts and does not have an internal charger.

The sucker is built like a freaking tank so it will take abuse but that being said, it is about as heavy as a freaking tank. But once you get used to the weight, it is very comfortable to hold.

Best of Luck to you!

Thanks I'll look into those last two and also looking for a mechanical mod for doing a few Cloud competitions.

I will let others speak to you of mechs.

But if you got something along the lines of a regulated mod like the Sigelei 150 watt if you find the right topper and the right build for it, you could do very well at cloud comps.

Have had my 50w istick for about 6 months now and haven't had a single issue. Had all sorts of tanks on it. Some tanks were doing the same thing yours is. Tweaking the coils solved it. Could be a number of things from the istick going out(stated obove), the connection from the mod to the tank(pin in the istick could need to be raised), the coils(every coil has a variable drop or heighten in ohm while being vaped and or breaking in). When it comes to batteries, mods, wattage, ohm levels, amps, coils, and all the connections could be something simple to something extreme.
