There are a lot of people out there that would believe the moon was made of cheese if FDA, CDC, or ACA told them it was. I call BS on it myself.

They want you to use patches/pills to help quit because big pharma pays them to, at least until the Government can get taxes on vape stuff, they hate losing tax money to vaping.

Honestly there's no scientific proof that vaping is better than smoking, and the jury will probably be out on this one for a decade or more - we're kind of guinea-pigging this whole thing. That said, there's too much anecdotal evidence to ignore - I know how much better I feel without the cigs, as do hundreds of thousands if not millions of other people who are out there evangelizing every day. I don't necessarily think it's a harmless pastime, but it's probably better for me than drinking, riding motorcycles, or sitting around reading the news online while watching baseball on TV, and I'm not giving any of those other things up, either.

I started smoking at 15 and quit at least a dozen times over the 15 years that followed - none of those quits lasted more than a few months, most less than a couple weeks. My first quit with vaping I went cold turkey for 3 days without skipping a beat - then the hardware got too fussy and I became a dual-user before giving up for a while. But once tech advanced to the point where eGos were considered entry-level, I hopped on board and haven't looked back - next week marks two years for me and my wife, each of us with only one (count it, one - actually more like 1/3 of one) slip-up in that whole time...

my smoker's cough was so bad that I couldn't tie my shoes without going into a massive coughing fit. That went away after I switched to vaping. That alone is enough to convince me that vaping is better. Not to mention that there is no tar in vaping, whereas there's tons of tar when you smoke (and it's primarily the tar that causes the cancer).

As for that report about formaldehyde in ecigs, they used bad science to make the experiment provide the outcome they desired, by using voltage levels way above what a vaper would use. http://vaping.info/news/2015/new-e-cig-study-hypes-formaldehyde-fears-based-faulty-experiments

As insane as it sounds, there are people out there that had rather you smoke and die of cancer than to use ecigs. After all, if you switch, big tobacco loses money, big pharma (who makes the patch, gum, chantix, etc) loses money, non-profits such as American Heart Assoc. potentially lose money from big pharma (yes, Johnson & Johnson, maker of Nicorette, gives money to agencies such as the AHA), the politicians lose their kickbacks from big tobacco and big pharma, and the government loses the tax monies.

that's exactly why I switched. I knew I had to do something. The patch didn't work (I was wearing it AND smoking), the gum didn't work, and not about to try chantix, what with all the side effects. Any drug that causes nausea, hallucinations, depression, and suicide is not something I'm gonna try.

I NEVER thought that i'd quit and when me and my girlfriend quit in August 2012 I thought for sure if one of us cracked it would be me.
She is now a dual user and smokes 4 or 5 real cigarettes a day.
I have not had any, not even one puff of a tobacco cigarette since August 20th 2012.

Yes, vaping worked. I quit using an ego~T kit that I bought from totally wicked. Vaping had come so far since 2012. I remember when a vamo v2 and protank 1 was as good as it gets.

You post was so brilliantly put and so horrifyingly truthful, that I had to take a screen shot to show other people, thank you.

What have you read about it? And what are your thoughts on this?
While the jury is still out on exactly how harmful vaping is. However, I will tell you without hesitation, I feel 100%better now (after a year of no cigs) than I felt for years. This tells me that sub ohm vaping 5-10milliliters of diy eliquid a day is much better for me than smoking between 1/2 and 1 pack of cigarettes a day.
You have to understand man, there is a huge agenda to blow smoke up your ass (literally). The tobacco companies and us govt are losing untold amounts of money because we have found a safer, cheaper alternative. They dont like this, vaping has the side effect of being healthier, living longer and making them pay for our senior health care and social security, instead of dying early and costing them nothing more. So aside from losing revenue, its also a threat to future funds.
Your govt has a VESTED INTEREST IN LYING TO YOU! Since the media is in big govts pocket, they are the vehicle which these bullshit ideas are spread. The problem is, everyone thinks they are intelligent, informed, and that their opinion matters, but most just repeat what they read in newspapers or see on tv (so they unknowingly spread lies).

You also need to take into account, that people spaz out the second they have some kind of pain, and immediately associate it with whatever they are doing 'right now'. So a 20year smoker quits smoking with starts vaping. His lungs hurt and hes coughing like crazy, must be the vaping because he never coughed like that after a cigarette.
A lady with a heart condition also switches to vaping. Stress from the first couple days of change gives her chest pains, must have been that damn ecig.
You get the point, people are reactionary and blame things they dont understand, first. Regardless of whether the familiar things are much more dangerous.

So please, when someone spews bullshit your way, be confident in your decision to vape and let them know theyve been lied to.

Dont let the occasional cig get ya down. I went almost 2 yrs as a dual user. During that time I was having 2-4 cigs in morning, a couple right before bed, and using ecig during the day. The transition can be tough. Hang in there

I always reverse this thought. E-cigarettes are safer than cigarettes which will be proven scientifically.
Unknown is neutral = neither good, neither bad.
If I didn't vape I would smoke.
SMOKING was scientifically proven to be harmful to me.

I don't need scientific proof to establish my better health. Scientific proof isn't needed to prove e-cigarettes allowed me to stop smoking.
Scientific proof will confirm for others what I already know.

VG/PG was studied for years before e-cigarettes. Fog machines are one example

Nicotrol Inhaler (nicotine inhalation system) is FDA approved.

I feel TONS healthier from switching to vaping. I can perform athletically, much better than I ever have. I don't smell. No short of breath or wheezing. Now with that being said, I'm not one of those with a mod in their hands 24/7. I vape as I would smoke a cigarette. During a work day (can't vape at work) I vape maybe an hour all together. During an off day, I vape maybe 2 hours all together. I see some people who constantly have vapor in and out of their lungs, subohming through 30ml a day. I can't find any research to believe that it's harmful...but common sense leads me to believe it's not healthy. But if you ask me, vaping is tons better than smoking. Just look at the new research from Dr. Farsalinos.
