I need a bit of education concerning the wrapping on our batteries. Would it be safe to use a heat-shrink on samsung 25r's. (the black rubberish kind) This may also answer my question of using a piece of white electrical tape to put a single band on battery to mark it.

Edit: I am using batteries in Panzer Mech. w/ .24-.34 builds on freakshow. if that matters. Thanks in Adv

There are a couple of varieties of shrink tubing, as you have noted.

The only one I would definitely NOT use for batteries is the type with glue (weather sealer) inside.

That being said, the thickness is going to determine whether or not it is suitable - it may increase diameter too much so it wont fit in a sled or tube easily, and any wrap is going to insulate heat ALSO - so battery will retain heat. So thin is better.

Same goes with using a LITTLE tape to mark cells. No issues except for dimensional. Only problem with tape is that glue will soften w/ heat and probably come off. I use those wet redimarkers. If the wrap is black. you could find white markers or put dots on ring around the + insulator to keep batteries paired.

If you re-wrap a lot of batteries, get the clear or translucent shrink tubing. You can write directly on the cell w/ a permanent marker- put batttery info, date, and marriage info. Then it is always there and can see it thru wrap.
