I'm into scale rc stuff. Im currently building an RC4WD Trail Finder 2, a Toyota truck, circa 83-85. Nowhere near done, but I'm cleaning it up and adding scale details.

Static .....I can't afford the rc stuff so I stick with the models.I'm currently preping and painting a 72 Plymouth duster.its a tom mongoose dragster replica.

I have built many from a Abrams tanks to Japanese zeros.I find painting and building with some Ben Howard on the surround sound is quite relaxing

Nice. I spent my weekend prepping a friends 69 Dart for some paint. It's not a model though...
On my tf2, I seperated the bed and cab, built an aluminum bed box, did a crawler cut on the fenders (more tire room) and I'm working on getting rid of the external screws that hold the bed and body on.
Still a long way to go, but I'm taking my time building it. I'm also bending and welding up an exo cage and crawler bed for it. I've also got a lexan 69-72 C10 body for the chassis...

I have spent many weekends and late nights in a shop.I use to have a restoration business.it sadly went the way of the dodo bird.so I build mini versions of them.god I miss those nights coming home smelling like bondo and looking like a bag of coke exploded in my face lol

Been there Rod, the tube chassis dart started out as a pile of tube and a few pieces of Dodge for good measure. I'm building an ls swapped 90 Chevy swb and swapping my backhalf 68 Nova from a big block on spray to a turbo Ls. It's been high 8's in the 1/4 and drove to and from the track. I'm hoping to see low 8's with 300lbs less and an extra 100hp.
Thank you Ray. Check out scale4x4rc.org to see some guys that are making some really insane stuff. One guy is building 1/10 scale cars and trucks out of .005 aluminum sheets. Others use styrene and make some super detailed stuff. I'm just fiddling around compared to some of those guys...

Steel rod. Some people braze steel brake line, but I got a little TIG and have been working on tiny little welds. What's holding me up now is building a chassis table so I can secure it all in place firmly. Just a couple mm is obvious on this little stuff...

The weight reduction should get you to the low 8s.look up Tim Lynch and Steve petty,I use to fiddle around with those guys,.....and those guy on scale4x4rc.org are definitely building some pretty sick stuff,its amazing what time can come up with and build

If I can keep the front end down... She is a ladder bar/backhalf car now, but I'm working on a 4-link/strut chassis that should take anything I can throw at it. Also, it will cert so I'm not limited to outlaw tracks.
Tim lynch is a familiar name, now Ive got to remember where I know it from... I've done some superbike and GP500 racing and, well, landed on my head a few times, so I'm not as good with putting names and faces together...

Yes they do. Brazing just doesn't look right to me... Now, I don't plan on detailing my interior on this thing. I'll probably just tint the windows and call it good. That's a lot of small plastic detailing and I'm more of the "fire up the mill and make chips" kind of guy.
He is in the twin turbo world. He has broke his own record in a mustang twice I think,he wrecked it on pass time in ATL trying to break it again., scary moment when he hit the wall.I think I'm on camera picking up the pieces lol not sure .a 4-link\strut should keep it down.ladder bars good for wheelies because of the way the energy is dispersed........straight back

I know what you mean some guys cut the doors and make hinges and door panels for the models and wire up lights and all sorts of little bits a pieces..... Me not so much maybe lights but that's about as far as I'm taking it.build and polish and on to the next one

I've got a couple cheap light kits. I should have it lit up good, undercarriage lights and all. Still deciding on which light bar for it. I do kind of want to make the tailgate open, but it's a pain. If I try, I'll probably end up glued to my desk with bloody fingers.
No that's the guy he still runs pro mod.he races for JEGS now.I myself have never tried to race ladder bars but have seen many who have and most if not all have the same issues. Can't keep the nose down.....without wheelie bars that is.

That's cool. It takes a lot to stay in the game that long. I built a competitive car from the ground up to prove I could, then sold it and moved back to simpler, more fun stuff. No prep stuff, basically street racing on an old track. Ladder bars can shine there, she goes straight, so keeping all the weight on the rear plants her good. But I did run a button to stop the juice on command, and still had to lift sometimes. Like it better than pedaling. I'm wiring a wastegate dump button for the turbo too. I'll still be glad when I get my chassis done...
A customer of mine (I trim trees for a living) has a drag car. A Mustang with like a 550 or so big block. Also running mid single digits. Crazy technology and money wrapped up in these cars now days. A topnotch work of art from top to bottom this car was really something else to just stare at for damn sure.
My other girl. A 1990 Harley Ultra with a new 113 S&S motor with the 6th gear added. She shits and gets all I need. I need to get some up to date pics soon. I bought it looking like an Easter egg but that will change this winter to match my trailer.

I'm usually not a fan of red-ish colors, but that is a good looking bike. Harley has always been good at coming up with paint jobs I like with colors i normally wouldn't.
What's up with the Bug? A big bore stroker and a turbo would make that thing fun. I don't fit those cars very well, but I still love to build them and race them. It really pisses up Viper owners when a bug spanks them...

Thank you. I actually bought it as a roller like that. When I finish a little rust repair, I will be having it wrapped. I was thinking of keeping it white, but going for the rust bucket look. It's easier to make money grudge racing when people think your junk is falling apart. I've also got to figure out a way to hide my work after I make room for for more rubber, 33x17 ain't enough.
I have fond memories of riding my bike to the local Woolworth to pick up some Testors Pla and a tube or two of glue, before it became an issue. Fun times building Stingrays, Roadrunners, The Judge and Mach 1's. I could cash in if I still had the original kits lol.

I need to see if I can find pics of my old streched Fiat 500. Blown sbc on methanol and a glide. I couldn't physicaly make the rear any narrower. People checked my driveshaft for rub marks because they didn't think I could fit 14.5" wide slicks under that tiny little car. Little death trap almost killed me a few times, but man, what a rush.

True......um how close was it to the drive shaft couldn't be more then a couple of inches

Fab 9 housing that I had to cut the link tabs off of to remove the chunk. Maybe 1.5" between the links and the tires, and extra 1/4" between the tires and the driveshaft. I probably sat there and stared at the chassis for a couple hours trying to figure out how to make it all fit. I do know that 15.5" tires didn't work. Ripped them up bumping the throttle in front of my house... Glad I did that before I took it to the track.
I use to always want a dresser painted white to look like a cops bike and even put POLICE logos on the tank but upside down. Tags that said NOTACOP, with red and blue party lights on the saddle bag beer coolers.

I've got some 1/10 and 1/8 nitros but I prefer the mini scales simply for the details.
Working a fully detailed int. On a 1/24 static is taxing enough. Try it on a 1/28 r/c..
