What exactly is your question? PG and VG are needed ingredients to make juice, but you also need nicotine (if you want to use it) and whatever flavors that you like. If you really want to DIY, read EVERYTHING you can in the this section. There are many tutorials about how to get started and everything you need. Browse the available recipes to get an idea of what flavors you might want to order and from what companies. When you figure that out, order sample sizes (10 mls or less) of the flavors to make sure they will work for you. Find a good calculator that is easy for you to understand and get familiar with it. That is how you will translate recipes so that you can be accurate in your measurements. DIY, like anything else is not just something you "start doing". You have to know at least the basics so that you don't waste too much money and more importantly, you don't hurt yourself.

Edit: Here is a link for the first place you need to go. The very first thread is where you need to start:

I would add to that a suggestion of getting a small digital scale so that you can weigh stuff rather than measuring with syringes or trying to use the drop method (drops are not a good way to measure since each liquid has different number of drops per ml). For calculator, I like the free e-Juice Me Up. It's pretty straight forward. And, you'll want to learn about acetoin, diacetyl, and acetyl propionyl and know if it's in your flavorings or not. Diacetyl causes respiratory illness (bronchiolitis obliterans aka popcorn lung, only known treatment is lung transplant for severe cases). Acetoin and acetyl propionyl are ingredients of concern, with acetyl propionyl believed to be as bad as, or even possibly worse than, diacetyl.

Regarding nicotine - do NOT purchase pure nicotine unless you have the lab equipment to use it safely (hazmat suit, glove box, etc). Most of us use 100mg nicotine base. Even that has to be handled carefully, kept away from pets and kids, etc. because it too can be harmful or fatal.

All good advice outwest, I went through her previous posts, assuming she is brand new to vaping, and she is. I was just trying to give her the VERY basics. My thought process is that if she goes through the info in the DIY section, she will naturally start with using Flavourart (since that's 99% of the recipes posted here and what the majority of us use) and the diacetyl/AP issue is something she won't have to worry about initially. It's really not that complicated, but can be hard for somebody brand new to "wrap their head around" at first. Mainly wanted her to go to the Tips/Tricks/Tutorials to get an idea, and hopefully it will guide her so that she doesn't just waste a bunch of money on anything and everything titled "vape juice". I think we can agree that ebay and amazon both have good deals to be had, but if you don't know EXACTLY what you're looking for, you can go down lots of wrong roads before you find what you actually need.

Good points and agreed. When I first looked at DIY some time ago, the popcorn lung thing was brand new and it was scary and hard to wrap my head around because there wasn't any info out there as to which had what ingredients and flavoring websites were confusing as heck since many labeled their stuff as oil, even if it didn't have any oils in it. Thankfully, between the better manufacturers stepping up to the plate and the better DIY vendors doing the same. . .

Awesome! We have many talented people here who worked really hard on on the tutorials. I think it's about time that instead of just answering the same questions day after day that we can start pointing people to the helpful links that are going to help them educate themselves. The old..."teach a man to fish...." if you will :)

Read, read and read more. It will save you a ton of money. There is a channel on YouTube called "DIY or DIE" that has some good information.

I usually advise newer folks not to buy 100 mg nicotine base. I personally don't think you need anything higher than 36 mg nic to start with since many don't vape anything over 6 mg anymore anyhow. That way if you happen to accidentally drip it on yourself while you are mixing, then you won't get what I call "fishbowl head" from nic overdose. I learned this the hard way. Later on down the road if you want to invest in gloves and other proper safety materials, then you can go for the 100 mg nic base. These are just my thoughts on the matter for whatever that's worth.

These are what I bought on amazon by an honest mistake after searching Base Juice - so now I'm glad because maybe they'll come in handy ? I seen them on the flavoring list supplied on Google.and the chart posted in the forum here..

LorAnns is supposed to be good stuff (haven't tried it yet, but have some apple on it's way :)). But make sure what you buy is vapeable. They also sell oil concentrates (NOT vapeable). If it says it's water soluble, then it's generally able to be use as an ingredient.

You can use Loranns (some of them), but you'll probably get better results with flavors specifically sold for vaping! (The Flavor Apprentice, Flavor Art, etc).

You should be fine then. If you're on the LorAnn website, just check to make sure before you buy anything.

I thought that's what it is because it came up under vape juice .. it was funny tho because this was 3 months ago when I found an istick50w in my hallway...it was a new toy!! I took it to a local vape shop here on Staten Island Ny.and the guy changed the filters.cleaned it out and I came home and searched Vape Juice.. so this is what I found. I didn't no and was glad I asked b4 putting it in my tank..lol !!

Just another thought..and please don't take offense to this. But why on earth would you want to take up vaping if you were never a smoker? Yes, we celebrate it as harm REDUCTION and "SAFER than cigarettes" but this isn't something that anybody can tell you for sure has no consequences. Now if you have to pick up one of the two, then of course I would recommend vaping any day. But don't kid yourself into thinking that it's 100% safe and you will never suffer any side effects in the future. Those of us who were smokers were on our way to sure lung disease, lung cancer, COPD and tons of other horrible diseases so literally any alternative would have been better. But you're picking up this expensive habit why? Please tell me it's not to be trendy or cool. Totally not judging you and I encourage you to do whatever you want. But this trend of non smokers picking up vaping "for the fun of it" is quite disturbing to me. It really makes no sense IMHO.
