Butternut: squash or not?

I've wondered about these butternut flavors for a while now. I finally bought a dram of LA Vanilla Butternut and although I haven't mixed it, it smells like a nice vanilla. No squash.

Has anyone tried the NF Vanilla Butternut or plain butternut? Do either of these taste like squash?

HIC or Huckelberried might have that flavor. I'd be surprised if HIC doesn't

I have FW Vanilla Butternut and it's very good. It has a nice smooth butternut squash taste, IMO.

Thank you! I was hoping it was squash... I love squash. What do you mix it with? I was thinking obvious stuff like ginger and cinnamon, but any other ideas?

I have only mixed a tester as a stand alone, but I think FW maple pecan or brown sugar would be a nice addition. Perhaps a little fresh cream too? I bet cheesecake graham crust with some marshmallow would work for a something a little different. I think there are a lot of possibilities.

Yes, all that sounds VERY good. Unfortunately, I didn't include it in my order because I was too impatient. Next time, for sure. I bet butter pecan would also be nice...yumyumyum.

I use LA vanilla butternut. I don't notice much of a squash taste. More of a buttery vanilla. Slight nuttiness. It's good stuff. Good with apple.

Sounds good, thanks. LA is the one I just bought, but I gather it's the NF one that tastes more like squash. I can definitely smell the nuttiness in the LA version, though. It's very sweet. I'm planning to try it with a little (very little) pumpkin flavor.

Do you like it with sweet apple or tart apple?
