Mint vs Menthol

So I randomly selected some Five Pawns Bowden's Mate from my local Vape Store, took it home and tried it and loved the mint. Problem...Five Pawns is $$$$. I am not much of a fan of Menthol vapes but I do like that mint flavor that Five Pawns offered. It wasn't throat catching or too overpowering and it honestly tasted like mint. Is there any other juice out there that has this "mint" flavor without the throat catching Menthol attributes? If I like it I'll also want to buy it in bulk, not 30ml but at least 50-120ml bottles. Price must be reasonable, no more than 22$/30ml. This is really only for people who have tried Five Pawns Bowden's Mate, because I've yet to find anything similar. Just with the mint aspect

Mint and menthol are very different.

I've tried many mint flavors and never had them taste like menthol.

It is hard to find one that isn't overpowering though because mint is really strong.

If you find a good one let me know :D

I like mint and peppermint better than menthol. Straight menthol at its highest concentration is very good to clear your nose when you have a cold though.

Cloudy, I'm a BIG mint flavor vapor. I couldn't find one that was strong enough for me so I started DIY my own. It's really pretty simple and cost so much less. I DIY a strong peppermint that I add some "koolada" to give it the coolness of menthol but not that menthol taste. Also, I know what's in my juice. Five Pawns especially has really been under the gun for having some things in their juice that may be harmful.
I buy my Nicotine, PG and VG from myfreedomsmokes.com (also allows me to mix the pg/vg ratio I want. I get my flavoring from http://shop.perfumersapprentice.com, you can buy in bulk and I get it in 4 oz bottles which last forever. The calculator I use is http://e-liquid-recipes.com. It's free and there are tons of recipe's and you can save your own. I will sometimes add just a few drops of lime, orange, strawberry, lemon/lime and like that as well. One thing to remember is don't make too much at once. Mints can loose their punch over time, so I only do 120ml at a time. Requires basically no steeping, I just put the bottle in some very warm water for a few minutes, shake shake shake and I'm ready to vape. Hope this helps!!!

Yeah I hate the coolness of the Menthol. I like mint though. Ravi could you name some flavors and companies that you found enjoyable? Seems like what you've tried is right up my alley

I just read something about their company today. Regardless I still think it's the best mint vape I've had to date. At some point I will end up making my own flavors seeing as I find myself mixing basic flavors I've acquired on my own to create something different

About the flavorings, is there certain flavorings that are different quality or taste? Or dues everyone source from this place?

I use TPA (perfumers apprentice.com) peppermint, spearmint, and koolada. I have also used Capella peppermint and spearmint. I think the Capella is a little less strong. I use spearmint VERY sparingly because it will overtake and can be rough on plastic tanks. In the very small amount I use (.5%) it doesn't cause any issues. There are a lot of other flavorings people use, I like these.

If what you read was them lying about the diketone levels of their juice, it is correct.

I have been a huge fan of Five Pawns juices, their flavor and complexity are fantastic. I was willing to spend the money on them until this came to light. When I started buying their products, I called them and asked about possible bad ingredients in their liquid. I was assured that it was all high quality ingredients and safe. Then they are exposed as liars...

I poured close to $200 worth of their juice down the drain... It hurt my wallet and I have lost my wake up and after meal vapes. Very disappointing...

Five Pawns Bowden's Mate contains 910 units of Acetyl Propionyl (Five Pawns own study), which is nearly10 times what is considered at risk to vape. Just saying... Mountain Oak Vaper and Vapor Shark have certificates, maybe you can find good products similar from them and even mix a mint with a vanilla, since Five Pawns was a mix of mint and French Vanilla. It is probably not too hard to make a DIY juice in this style as well.

I'll have to start making my own. I was just wondering if the mint flavors would closely replicate their mint seeing as it was legitimately delicious. Only vaped 30ml of it though so I'm not really worried about the health effects. Kind of a shame for something to be so overpriced and not even made responsibly. Thanks for the help and responses
