I am trying to take out a new life insurance policy, and when asked if I smoke I correctly stated 'no.' I do, however, I vape 3mg juice all day long. I'm planning on going to 0mg for 10 days prior to the required blood test. Any chance I might get popped? Does anyone have experience with this?

Out of curiosity, how long have blood tests been a prerequisite for a life ins policy?

Since at least the mid 90's. They usually don't deny you life insurance as a smoker, but they will charge you a higher premium.

I should have stated that differently. It will vary from situation to situation.

For life insurance provided through employee benefits, you might not have to do jack squat. This is true for me at my work. No tests. No questionnaires. Nada.

If I want more life insurance than my employer offers as the standard amount, or if I want additional insurance through non-employer plan, then there are tests.
