Has anyone used these?

If they're 40A then I'm Charlie Chaplin.

From the spec sheet I smell a rewraped 25r for an inflated price.

Notice they get to the figure of 2300mah by discharging to 3V. I'd bet if they took it down to 2.5V they'd have gotten 2500mAh. Coincidence?

No. There's nothing. Anything labeled higher, the company is lying.

Outwest made a brilliant list .

For builds up to 25A also consider the LG HD2 25A 2000mAh. If you can't get VTC4 and want a 30A then LG HB6,but they're only 1500mAh.

I'm not familiar with those or that company. I use LG HE4's and I usually get them for around $5 each.

ok, that didn't work. just go to eBay and search LG HE4, it's the pair for 10.98/free shipping and a case.

I've started using those exclusively and I've had no problems. If you don't have one, get a Xtar charger which is very good to your batteries. I think TygerTyger posted a sweet deal on vapor joes canada for the 4 bay. It ships from US.

I have the 2 bay Xtar and paid as much as Tyger has the 4 bay. I checked and the deal still works. Battery safety is no joke and I'm comfortable with this set up.

HE4 is a 20A cell not 35A.

It's a common misconception that it has a 35A pulse rating but it does not .

There's no such thing as a 35A 18650... Yet.

Okay thanks for clearing that up. So it's advertised as such? It won't even pulse that?

In my opinion pay no mind to pulse ratings.

Building to a.pulse rating is foolish ,putting it politely. One thing goes wrong and you're screwed. I've had an auto firing mech before. Luckily it was with an.Rda built at 0.6 ohm on a 20A HE2. God knows what would have happened if I'd built super low.

All I had at the end if the incident was a small burn on my hand, a pair of very clean coils (except for the cotton ash), a cell I no longer trusted as it got baking hot and a Nemesis mech mod rice pin that needed a few thou` shaved off it to stop it happening again.

The only amp rating any vaper should be interested in is continuous. If you want to build lower you should get a parallel box mod in my opinion.

This is a 20A continuous discharge current (CDR) cell that clearly gets damaged at 30A. Even at only 10A it barely reached 1600mAh. In my opinion this is not a 40A cell and you should not run it above 20A.

Comments
  • At 10A the discharge barely reached 1600mAh. I would have expected it to go out to at least 2000mAhif this was a true 2300mAh cell. I'm giving it a capacity rating of 1800mAh.
  • At 20A the cell had a moderate maximum temperature of 79°C.
  • At 25A the cell reached a max temperature of 91°C. This is a way too high a temperature for a cell to operate at,
  • At 30A it reached 99°C, only one degree below my safety limit of 100°C. This is clearly not a 40A cell.
  • Discharges were not done at 35A or 40A due to the very high temperature seen during the 30A test.
  • An additional cycle at 20A showed clear signs of damage from the one 30A (and possibly the one 25A) discharge; voltage sag, reduced capacity, and increased temperature.
  • I am setting a CDR of 20A for this cell. I think you will get decent cycle life due to the moderate temperature at that current level. In my opinion you should not run this cell at above 20A though!
