VG vs PG base for Nicotine (100mg/ml)

Can someone please explain to me to pros/cons or the difference in nicotine in a VG base or a PG base? I'm just beginning to toy around with the idea of DIY e-juice and like most other things I like to research everything before I even place my first order. Basically a confidence builder I suppose.

I've tried searching and in turn have answered a secondary question that I had about nicotine but I just can't seem to locate what perks there would be in using one base over the other in terms of nicotine dilution...

Thanks for your help ahead of time!

PG is easier to mix with than VG. VG is much thicker. If you're going for Max VG in a mix, you might want VG nic, though.

PG gives more throat hit, too.

I'm a max-VG guy and I use 50/50 base from Nude, or 100% PG from VT since they don't do mixes. Even though I like VG-heavy, I just find the PG nic is so much easier to work with in syringes and with my nic rates at 3 mg (most people I mix for are 3 or 6 mg) a couple percentage points doesn't throw off my ratios too bad, so it's worth the ease of use tradeoff.

PG - Better dilution since PG is thinner the nic mixes in easier. Better storage because PG is thinner so O2 bubbles rise to the top faster decreasing the oxidation process. Easier to handle because PG is thinner, VG is thick and doesn't like being sucked into a syringe.

VG - The only real advantage a VG nic base has is if you are trying for a max VG juice.

I gotcha, I hadn't even thought about the density being different. I knew it, just wasn't applying the thought process I suppose... I'm not sure that I'm too much interested in Max VG, my local vape shop is just recently offering max VG and want to try it but 50/50 is all I've ever vaped so I don't so much know the difference lol.

I think I'll give the PG a try first, just wasn't sure if there was something else I was missing.

Thanks for the quick replies and assistance!

I generally prefer the convenience of a PG base too, but i also mostly stick with 15, 30, or 120ml mixes. So at 3nic and without the need to switch beyond a 5ml syringe i don't find the VG base to be *that* much of pita.

Actually had planned on giving Nude Nicotine and their 50/50 mix a serious look recently when i ran super low, especially when i saw they offered that $2 sample. Still waiting on that sample to ship a week latter though (meh), so ended up not taking any chances and simply re-upped my VT stash last night (which shipped this morning and is already half way here)

NN has been a little wonky with their ship times due to a lab move, but you won't go wrong with VT, that's for sure.

That makes some sense i guess. Did seem strange to me though that a company would slack that hard on a promotional offer. Not exactly inspiring me to come back and spend a chunk of real money lol.

I got pissed when a liter I'd ordered a couple weeks ago went sitting around unshipped, called up to cuss them out and they invited me up to come tour the lab, which they were just in the process of tearing down and moving into a bigger suite in the same business park. Left with a handful of free flavor samples and a much higher esteem for them than I'd had previously, but it's still disappointing to hear they're still slacking when they should be settled in and back into production mode by now...

I'll throw out another opinion....If you are mix for more than one person, I say VG base is easier. even going 50/50 mixes.
I have 3 condiment bottles with 0mg, 3mg and 6mg VG base NIC
My friends all prefer 70/30 mix and all my flavors are PG based ....
All my recipes are calculated at 0mg so I just grab the bottle I need
Calculations are very easy this way....but I also use a scale....
(Honestly, for $25 scale on Amazon I don't understand how anyone still uses syringes if you mix more than a couple bottles a week)

I been thinking i need to go the scale route.

Recommendation on a cheap but good one?
