My Favorite Yogurt Base thus far

So CAP is going to release their yogurt flavors. They are probably the best ones out, imo, and stay true to that yogurt taste and feel. Nice, thick and rich. That being said, I really don't like vaping yogurt. I mean I like to eat it, cause it's healthy, but I much rather have an ice cream or a cake. But I know a lot of people love yogurt vapes, and I'm sure a yogurt base is something that everyone wants. So this has been mine so far. It's pretty good, it's not too "yogurty?" but it's definitely prominent.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yogi Base

  • CAP Creamy Yogurt - 5%
  • FA Meringue - 0.5%
  • FA Caramel - 0.5%
  • EM - 1.5% or Sweetener at 1% or Both
For a strawberry Yogurt add

- TFA Ripe Straw - 4%
- CAP Sweet Strawberry - 4%
- Shake and vape better after a couple days

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's nice and sweet, rich and playful, but still holds up to that true yogurt flavor. It's more towards the realistic yogurt vapes, and not so much like a play on yogurt (think Ares by YGRT Eliquid). Also the fact it's a shake and vape is rewarding. I'm going to update this post regularly with various fruits and flavors to mix with. Blueberry yogurt is next, then a Strawberry Gogurt, then a FroYo, then whatever ideas you guys have. I'm sure there is a better way to make a yogurt, and I've played around with various creams to try and bring out that sour note. So far this has been my favorite version of yogurt.

I have these too. Didn't know they weren't released yet. I tried the Greek yogurt so far, very yogurty! Mixed it Cap super-sweet and cap pineapple. People will def like these two.

I've been dying to try a yogurt flavor for ages now--still haven't. I tried a combo someone on reddit suggested to emulate the basic tangy flavor: Flavorah V. Custard, Blueberry Muffin, and a hint of Coconut. It almost hit it, but didn't survive the addition of any fruit flavorings--everything got confused and fouled up. I will have to break down and buy some kinda yogurt--thanks for the update about the new Caps flavoring.

@lirruping this might be a yogurt you like. It's not too sour, and the creaminess is there, but it's also sweet and palatable. It's really growing on me since I'm not a big fan of yogurt vapes...but I'm thinking that no one just hasn't made a good yogurt flavor. As soon as these flavors drop, I'd get them and try this recipe exact, and let me know how you feel.

Oh, so you mean they aren't even out yet, really--you got an advance sample? Whooo... lucky you :)

You might not know it, since I was just talking about experimenting with the Flavorah line, but I don't buy many d/a/ap flavors. I'm not a hard-liner, but I feel like if there's a non-d/a/ap version, I should go with that. With Capella, one never knows, but imo it is likely to contain diacetyl or substitutes or it would've been explicitly marketed as being free of those things. Obviously, they can't call it a "V2", but they would've said something. Or what do you think?

Flavour Art is supposed to have an (e-cig line, baddie free) yogurt flavor coming soon. I just remembered this, so I'm thinking I will give it a whirl first.
Still, no matter how good the FA version is, chances are I'll end up trying the Caps too. (heh, yeah...I'm full of contradictions).
I am glad you mentioned it--we don't get a lot of discussion of non-FA flavors here. And when I do, I will definitely try out your mix!

Is it possible to sub FA yogurt for the CAP? (Still debating on how much I like to vape yogurt)
Having a hard time with the FA yogurt.
really love your recipes keep up the fantastic work.

@lirruping from what they told me, these specific flavors do not contain DA/AP but contain Butryic Acid, which is a replacement for them that aren't supposed to be harmful (unreported though) and gives the same feel and flavor. Now again, this is what they told me. I believe them, because I can taste the BA in it, but who knows.

@Mikhask I do not recommend subbing the FA Yog for the CAP yog. This is because I do not like the flavor I get from it. CAP's creamy yogurt isn't too strong or sour, blends nicely, and still holds up against other creams. I find it superior to FA's. This is up to personal preference, though I feel if you try it you'll feel the same. Also, FA Yogurt is known to have DA/AP so if you are worried about this I would stay away as it's (supposedly) loaded with it.

@wayne.walkerr
Thanks for sharing this. I also got caps creamy yogurt at the jersey vape expo and was looking for some info on it. There was nothing until you posted on reddit, now over here.

Also, great job on the youtube channel. All of us diy'ers appreciate that kind of dedication and effort. Sharing information is the only think that keeps newbs from falling flat on their faces and giving up, so it really is important.

Thanks Wayne for your quick reply: I don't vape anything with AP/DA all that much so I'm not too overly concerned (I did smoke for 35 yrs) but will take your advise and be aware of the content of this yogurt, don't see it being in my arsenal of flavors I like and it's only a tester. Can see why it wouldn't be a good sub.
Thanks for the channel and the great recipes. Keep up the great work.

Well, that's good to know. I wish flavor companies had more incentives to be honest, but I'd be inclined to take them at thier word too, in this case--especially if I tasted the BA. That might be the best measure we have to go on for any flavorings outside of FA and TFA.

I know there are some questions about butyric acid, but so far (from what I can tell) it's still preferable to any of the other subs. I thnk I can taste it in flavors too and sometimes it strikes me as pukey tasting. But I've found I don't mind it in small amounts, and best when you wouldn't even know it was there. To my taste, TFA Strawberries and Cream is a good example of that. I was looking at the TFA/TPA site the other day and discovered there's a relatively small amount of BA in their Strawberries and Cream flavor. (I only surmise it's a "small amount" because It's near the bottom of the flavor components list, which is based on their GC testing and set out in order of highest concentration to lowest.) Point is, I wouldn't have guessed it was there from the taste, unlike some other flavorings -- caps vcv2, for ex--in which it seems really out front.

I might be misremembering, but I thought I'd read something around here about a new FA Yogurt flavor - one for their ecig line which doesn't have any diacetyl/acetoin/acetyl propionyl. Am I confused...thinking of some other new FA flavor coming out? I'll be bummed if I am, but not that surprised..

I recall hearing/seeing the same thing @lirruping so I think you're right. However, I don't think the reformulated version ( for e-cigs ) has been released yet.

I think you can only get the Cap Yogurts directly from Cap right now...since they are also based in NJ, they were at the convention.
