I was referred by another VU member to review Genuine Cells as he swore they are great guys. Recieved 5 VTC 4s from them today I got dirt cheap. Once I opened all the cases I immediatly noticed slight differences from my current vtc4. Also noticed something that may be nothing but ALL the numbers on all 5 are exactly the same. The guy at Genuine said thats normal if they all come from same batch. Posting pix hoping someone will honestly and knowingly tell me they are legit or not. (Praying they are). The pic is of a single one as they are all identical, and I mean identical. The 18650 3.7V 2100 mAh on them is a sticker to help me know which 4 are for my Spec Forces and which is for my smplCAM00356.jpg CAM00354.jpg CAM00355.jpg CAM00353.jpg he smpl. Thanks ahead of time.

Yep, Batch codes will be the same on a lot of cells. The VTC4's out in the market are almost all from the same manufacturing run at Sony.

TY! Here is the cool part. I got 5 with 3 battery cases, 4 for my new flask, 1 for my smpl since only had 1 batt. Got all 5 for $31.36 with free shipping. Of course he wants me to write up a review on his company and site.

Also found a video on youtube that says you can tell authentics from fakes by weight. For instance, vtc 4s weigh 45-45.25grams. Not sure if thats true but these all weigh 45.11-45.23 (got a really nice digital from my darker days lol)

"Yes, I mix DIY e-juice by weight. That? Oh... we sometimes use Stevia. Yes... it comes in crystal form. This? Oh, this is just some dusty fluff... no, it doesn't look green to me."

:)
Lol. Is it weird I kept all my stuff like scales, unused jewelry bags etc from my UM ERR "crystal Method Jewery Making & Sales" days?

I been dripping my rta liquids (18-36nic) with 200% flavor concentrate all day awaiting battery arrival and charging. I guess double the power means double nic dose, might try to drip some of the 12 tomorrow lol.

Edit: that was on my smpl though.

Is "I'm running 200 watts and shit is going south" a continuation of the "I want to buy the cheapest mech mod possible (under $20 please)" thread?

Haha not funny. When the button first got hot it was a 0.25 build, on a series with 2 new vtcs estimated it between 175-225. I put a 0.50 build in the twisted messes and thats when button overheated again. I then went 0.75.spring quit and button got stuck. Now it wont fire for shit and I got a lil hole burned in tip of finger. Dont advertise this much but got some nerve damage that delays the signal in my brain to my body delayed. I could feel the burning perfectly, but it took my hand a helluva lot longer to release it than I would like. Its a 35 dollar mod. Came from www.maxvaping.com,http://maxvaping.com/products/special-forces-mechanical-box-mod
Could have bought quite a few different box mods for the price. A friend gave me a store credit voucher code thingy he had so I went with them. Pic of the mod ad in case you dont wanna go to site and my finger here

Well the problem is that that there was no mosfet on the box. And more than likely they are using a button that's only rated for 3-5 amps.
That's why it failed and why it burnt your finger..

Yea, and if you looked at the site, it says one is not needed due to the design of the box. My first venture with a series box of my own. as much as I hate to say it. Might have to just send it back and get a full refund and buy another tube mod. Now I learned a lesson I will soon not forget. SOMETIMES the prettiest isnt the best. Its not even like I bought the cheapest one I found either.

Well they clearly don't know why their talking about. A mosfet would be needed to protect the button from all the amps being discharged. It's true that it would limit how low you can build, but it would usually be about .2 ohms.

I would recommend another box mod with a mosfet so it won't fail like this one did.

Those look authentic to me. A lot of the fake VTC's that I've come across are re-wrapped Samsung 25-R's. It's Still not a terrible battery ( I own many 25-r's ), but the fact that we have to double check our purchases annoys me to no end. The worst part is how hard to find these VTC's are at times; Shady motherfuckers are definitely raking in some cash at the uneducated vaper's expense.

I would personally never trust a 35 dollar series box. Sounds like you have a low amp rated switch. It also sounds like most of the internals were not adequate for the power of a series box. When it comes to series i see a lot of junk on the market. I always wonder how the vendors can sleep at night selling someone a crap that will melt in their hand and possibly burn their face.
Like I said, I've seen far too many dangerous series boxes on the market. Many "cloud chasers" think they can build .08-.1 on them, but they must be mentally deficient. A build that low is so fucking hot, that 90% of the time it's not even enjoyable. I rarely go below .3 on my Hexohm unregulated series box.

Well Imma post a piece on this, send the vendor a link and see what they have to say about rectifying it.

I started at like 0.35 to try to be safe and moved up from there. I mean at 0.75 it still overheated. That tells me this is just a shitty clone.

The box doesn't need a mosfet. It's purely mechanical. The switch is a spring loaded lump of copper. It gets pushed in and hits a copper bar to complete the circuit. You only need a mosfet on horn style momentary switches used in wired mechanical boxes. This box would need a mosfet no more than a copper Tube mod would, they're very similar in how they work, it's pretty much all solid metal.

You did build extremely low for a series box. Remember, you're not getting double the power out of it, you're getting quadruple the power of a 4.2V mech.

If a button gets hot on a box like that, take a look at the switching assembly. You may find its not getting a good connection. If it's arcing it can get extremely hot.

I'm 100% certain he's only getting 8.4 volts out of that box before voltage drop and battery sag. That's only double, I don't know where you got quadruple from.

Punch it into an ohms law calculator.

Take a 0.2ohm build.

At 4.2V that's 20A, approx 80W.

At 8.4V that's 42A and 320W.

My maths makes that quadruple the power. Power isn't voltage. Basic things people need to be checking before just throwing a build on, especially if they're moving g from single or parallel mechs to series.

If you want to maintain the same wattage Vape on series you quadruple your resistance. That's just how ohms law works.

I agree. I get 4-5 of em a day. Plus you gotta threaten to post negative feedback to get responses from them when their is a defective product. The Spec Forces clone is garbage. There is no reviews by anyone in the review community worth a salt that talks positive of them, no matter what manufacturer. I am going to call them and once again ask for refund. I got tempered springs I could upgrade them with but........why put another $30 into it when I can buy a awesome mosfet box for it.
