Twisted 24g vs untwisted....

I have not found a vape calculator to help me with this, and I am running low on kanthal so I figured I would ask here...

I know different gauges of kanthal have different resistances per inch/foot/etc. My question is, how does twisting the wires affect the resulting resistance? I know twisting lowers it. And my first assumption is that it cuts it roughly in half. Is that right?

For instance, wrapping 4 wraps on any given diameter of untwisted 24g kanthal would have the same resistance (give or take) as 8 wraps of twisted?

Thanks!

Steam engine is wrong sometimes so use it as a guideline and not a bible. All my builds that I've used steam engine to figure out end up lower then the calculated by .02-.03.

Yeah estimating the lead length is always off for me, and it also assumes you have perfect coils and perfect connections. 0.02-0.03 isn't that big of a difference, unless you are trying to build a 0.1 coil.

Thanks for the info though!
