How can I be sure of the Nickel that I bought is real?

I recently purchased an Istick 40w tc along with an Lemo 2 and N200 nickel. I love the Istick and the Lemo2 2, but when I try to make coils with the 28ga nickel, 8 wraps on a both 2.5 diameter bit I get ohm readings of .9 to 1.0 ohm. I switch the Istick to TC mode and she reverts to wattage mode automatically. The I stick and my ohm meter say the same thing about resistance.
Do I have a faulty Istick or is the nickel wire not up to snuff??

It may be topping out the ohm level... the istick tc 40w's ohm range for TC mode looks to be .05-1 ohm... If your coil is reading .9 to 1 ohm then the istick may be faulting it as being too high...

Disclaimer: I have very little knowledge of coil building, just getting into it myself somewhat. I'm sure someone else will be in soon to help further. I just noticed this about the ohm ranges on the eleaf website.

Joey, obviously that can't be a proper reading of proper nickel coils with those specs, so let's start with the big picture.

What do you have to do cross checks with? Tanks, factory coils, RDAs, mods, wire?
The ni200 was purchased with the new Lemo and Istick. It was wound around a small spool and hand written with NI200 on it. The reading on my ohm meter and istick are the same with both factory coils and hand made coils with Kanthal. I really think its the nickel wire thats the issue, it may have been mis-labeled.

Thanks, I think you're right, according to Steam Engine it would take too many wraps for nickel to produce 1 Ohm.I'll go and get some nickel wire in a Vape shop.

I prefer Ti over Ni...I also use rayon vs cotton on this...MUCH better with rayon.

Unfortunately, iStick 40wTC doesn't read Ti

Yes it works fine - you just have to lower the temp at least 100 degrees. I run my Ti on the Istick around 300-350.

Though it has no setting for Ti, just Ni. It will run it, yes. Am I correct?

Yes, start with the temp way down and turn it up until you get the temp that works for you. I have an atty with Ti I run at 550 on a Ti setting but 350 on the Ni setting.

Excellent. Good to know. I've been wanting to try Ti out, but haven't because I assumed if it didn't have a Ti mode it wouldn't work right. I've been having a beast of a time getting my Goblin Mini to work well on the eleaf. Works great on my evic vt, and other rta's I've got work fine on the eleaf. But for some reason no matter how well I build it, the eleaf likes to tell me that the baseline temp is a couple hundred degrees with the Goblin M. Kinda frustrating. Since you have one, have you noticed that at all with any of your setups?
