Getting to Gold Status

So today I was looking on VU and I noticed I just hit my 1000th post. I know for some thats not a big deal but I thought it was pretty cool. In any event, I am a Silver Contributor and I started thinking what are the requirements to hit Gold Status. I searched the site but could not find the answer. In any event, maybe its 1500 or so. Anybody care to chime in on this one?

I just turned recently. I started playing contests or otherwise my count would be much lower.
