LG21865 charging

I recently acquired a Sigelei 100wPlus that came with two LG21865 batteries. They were down to 44% charge so I popped one in my charger and 12 hours later, still 44%. Is there a special charger that I need?

What charger are you using? You should use an Xtar, Efest Luc or Nitecore charger. And I assume you meant LG HE2 18650. High drain lithiums contain a pretty serious amount of energy. If they are handled, charged or discharged improperly they can burn your house down. Do not use a piece of shit charger.

Some chargers have a selectable voltage, such as the trustfire TR-001. If it is one of that sort make sure the switch is set to 4.2V else you'll never get a full charge.

This is the charger I have and the batteries I was talking about. I bout the charger from a local shop and of course there was no box with a brand name so I have no idea what brand is. Update: both batteries charge just fine on the charger and my house hasn't burned down.

What were you using to charge them that wasn't working? You mentioned they were still at 44 percent after 12 hours. Sounds like a charger issue to me.

My trustfire charger worked flawlessly until I decided to take it apart through the spring on one bay sticking. It was a right state inside. Some surface mounted components had chips in them and Bayer metal was exposed. The Ac side was almost contacting the dc side because if dodgy soldering and not trimming component legs. You never know what's going on inside.

It's not the cells. As long as they're genuine LG. They're HE2s. 20A continuous 2500mAh.

Thats a single cell cheap charger. It should do the job but if you continue to have charging issues I'd recommend something different from Xtar, Nite core or a LUC. Don't let the efest brand put you off, the LUC chargers are very good indeed.

It was that charger. I have two of them. I'm not sure what brand but they've charged my other 18650s and my 18350s without a problem. Put them on the chargers last night and woke up to green lights and 100% reading on my sigelei

Cool. Just keep an eye on things. Sounds like a one off.

Take care charging over night. Don't want to sound like the paranoia police but I don't charge my cells unless I'm awake. It's tough I know, if the chargers are only like 500mA or something, because it takes ages to charge. At 2A in my LUC 4 bay, two batteries are done in less than a hour and a half.

I was disgusted with Trustfire. Knew they weren't the best to begin with, but the state of the innards if that charger... I've seen chimps at the zoo that could have done a better job soldering. Just be careful bud and you should be fine.

Thanks for the advice. I am definitely going to be more attentive to my next charger purchase. And it wouldn't hurt to change my own practice when it comes to charging. I usually just pop them in at night and take them out when I go to work in the morning.

Decided to take a look at the back of my charger. So far, I'm not worried. But when I have the funds to do it proper, I will.
