Thank you.Charge/Voltage of the battery, voltage drop with the mod and atty, the conductivity of the atty, the type of wire you use (wire gauge, twisted, Clapton, Kanthal, Nichrome, Etc), and lastly the wraps of your coil and configuration. Don't forget the switch, has to be clean, clean, clean to get the best current transfer.
I'm running a .14 currently. And I have another build at the same ohm's. One is in a 24awg kanthal a1 and the other is done with 22awg nichrome 80. There is a noticeable difference in ramp up time. Was what brought this question to mind.The biggest single thing that will effect ramp up time is how low your build is. A .5 ohm coil will take longer to get to temp than a .2 ohm coil. That's reflected in the amount of amps you'll draw respectively. A .5 will draw 8.4 amps/35 watts and a .2 will draw 21 amps/88 watts.

Yes there will be… Nichrome has a lower resistance per length than Kanthal. so if you build two coils of the same length the Nichrome version will have a lower resistance and heat up faster. I'd be extremely cautious building that low on a single 18650 at that resistance. That's going to hammer the shit out of that battery.Sony vtc4. I agree on the nichrome but, the kanthal is faster if I remember it correctly.. Been awhile since I seen it though. Wasn't my Atty I was building it on, was a friends. To many builds, bad memory lol
