I've been super happy with my mxjo's. I think i have 3 pairs. They work really well in my unregulated box mod and in my single battery mechs. Never a problem, great battery life. In a regulated mod i (personally) wouldn't worry about the safety difference between sony, lg, or mxjo. I've used them all without disaster (and i build super low). Regulated mods have all kinds of protection against shorts and amp drain etc. If i was looking for batteries to use in a regulated mod i'd probably take the lower amp limit w/more battery life. In a regulated mod the 5 (or so) amp difference doesn't matter to me as much as the extra battery life. My VTC4's die wicked fast, and they always have right outta the box. They're safer-but also more annoying. Long story short-these days i've been real happy with mxjo. Good life-no disasters. Yet.

What you really need to match the battery to in a regulated mod, is the watts you use. For safety's sake, the batteries should be able to work at full power. I've never used my Smok Xpro m65 any higher than 40 watts. My Samsung, LG and MXJO's all work about the same at my wattage level. YMMV, and always be careful out there!

Definitely safety oriented. Hence the thread, want to make sure that since I'll be buying batteries specifically for this mod and only for this mod that they will be safe in my use. I definitely can't see using 140 watts much less 165 or 200. Won't upgrade it unless it's a temp control update maybe. Thanks much!

Ordered my IPV :) :) :) Ordering batteries as well, and some juice.

I'm going to hold off on the uWell Crown tank, just until next payday. Cannot wait to get these bad boys in!!! Wish they were here already!

Will definitely give a good write up of my opinion on the Li after I get some time with it. Thanks to everyone who offered input in this thread, I appreciate the kind help. I've got 4 25R's coming from Liion Wholesale, got a great deal. I could not ask for more from a site.

I feel comfortable with the 25R's. These puppies will stay married and only be used for the IPV. Definitely don't foresee using the mod at full power much, however it's nice to know you can.

Thanks again, everyone. I really do appreciate it.

Cheers

Matt

Remember to keep these batteries married, and never let them divorce or cheat in another device. You want to mark them A1 and A2, second set B1 and B2, and so on.

Each time you charge, say the A1 was the left battery in the mod, next time it will be A2 that is the left battery. Swap them as one battery always draws a bit more than the other, and if you didn't swap it may potentially lead to one battery going too low, and failing a lot sooner than it should .[/QUOTE]do you really need to get new battery's and marred them or can I use some I already have but are not married but got them at the same time

:)

You can do anything.

I'm not the most educated here about batteries, however I can answer your question to the best of my knowledge.

You could absolutely do this. You would do so, with the knowledge that this will lead to you needing new batteries a bit sooner than when you would have if you have done it the way described above. The reasons this is stated the so many times here and abroad, is because batteries (especially Lithium Ion) can be damaged when they get too low. SO, if you use a mech mod and try and squeeze every last "fire" out of your batteries, you are consequently leaving yourself with a lower mAh capacity than you had before in those batteries. The same thing with regulated devices. One side of the sled/one battery will always take on more of the draw than the other. The idea is to intend to keep the drain on the equal after two full charge cycles. That is why it is reccommended that you rotate their position in the sled after every charge, to ensure that one of the batteries does not continually take on a higher draw than the counterpart.

I intend to keep my batteries married and marked something like described above, because I want to ensure that the batteries will perform at the highest level they can, for the longest time. I'll still need new batteries at some point, and that is understood, as these are high drain batteries. However, I can feel confident that they will last a long while if I take care of them properly. That means a few things, including using a charging system that won't overcharge them, keeping them married, rotating the position in the sled, and not firing them when they get too low.

To answer your question as I think I got sidetracked..

You could do that. But if you do, you'll want to ensure that for the rest of the time you keep those batteries married and do what is listed in your quote.

Someone could tell me I'm wrong. But in my experiences, and reading, I do believe you'll be alright. I have used a 25R and a VTC5 together in a mech mod when I was in a position where a new battery was out of the question, and my second VTC5 took a poo (dropped it, dented)

I've done it, and I am sure others have, but I wouldn't reccomend doing so as when you do this you run the risk of the lower spec battery becoming a part of the circuit in whatever mod you are using.

I hope you have the same battery. And if you do use them together, keep them together and save up $12 and order a new pair from Liion as soon as you are able to, that way you can feel more confident.

If I have given wrong information, please correct me, as I will admit I do not know everything. :)
