Noob question about ohms/volts jumping around.

Hey.

New to the forum, and to sub ohm vaping. Been using a Sigelei z-max for about a year, and figured it was time to move up.

My wife got me a Sigelei 150 TC for my birthday a week ago and it came with a Herakles tank. Everything's been awesome, and the increase in flavor production is crazy (so is the increase in cloud production, but whatever). I ordered a second Herakles and I figured I'd throw the .2 ohm (kanthal) coil in that comes with it, just for kicks, and immediately the problems began.

While the unit would recognize it as a .2 ohm coil on the first hit, it would immediately start ramping up the ohms and volts with each hit - which makes it kind of impossible to control where you want it.

Thought maybe it was an issue with the new tank, so I tried the .2 in my other Herakles...same issue. Went back to the .6 and everything's fine.

So, after all this: am I missing something because I'm new at this? I know if the coil was nickel the device should be in joule mode, but unless I'm mistaken, the .2 Sense includes with the Herakles is kanthal.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well

Is it jumping back down then up again? This is what has happened to my IPV Mini 2. Regardless of RDA and build it will not read the true resistance for more than a few hits until it decides to jump up then down then up, etc.

I think it is either a wiring issue or a chip issue and I will be sending it in to P4You this week when my IPV 3 Li arrives.

I do not know if this is the issue you are experiencing, and if it does not happen again after you change the coil out, no problem. But I would think about contacting Sigelei and letting them know the problem you are experiencing. They may have info for you, or may tell you a repair is needed.. I don't know. Not trying to fear monger.
