Peppermint help

Good afternoon,
I have been reading these forum pages and searching the internet trying to replicate a peppermint vape sold by my local vape shop and so far I have had no luck!
I decided to try my own concoction but i can not get the peppermint flavor to pop!!
70/30 @ 15% tfa peppermint
I get a cool vape but really slight peppermint taste
any help?

FA has a very realistic peppermint but if you're looking for a candy type of peppermint instead, you could try FW Candy Cane, it's pretty good too. You could also add a drop or two of Koolada to chill it a little.

TFA's Peppermint isn't bad, I just prefer others.

I'm using TFA Peppermint. I'm a newbie so was just trying to get a simple peppermint, haven't added any other flavored to it.

I use TFA Peppermint but I mix it strong (15%). I add just a drop of sweetener and 5% Koolada. It's basically like Altoids. Strong! But, that's the way I like it. I would start at a lower % and then up it till you find what you like.

Would the Vanilla bring out more of the peppermint flavor? I'm a newbie diy'er and am looking for a crisp peppermint flavor.

If you choose to add the sweetener it takes VERY little. I make 240ml at a time and only add a few drops (3-4). A little goes a long way!

I have checked FW flavors and will have to order a few to play with. The juice I am buying reminds me of a Brachs peppermint candy. Candy Cane may do it! Thanks

That was my starting point with the TFA, did not use a sweetener and will have to order me some koolada. I'm getting the coolness I was looking for, just not enough peppermint

Roll Tide!!!! I'd up it a little. I've gone as high as 20%. The Koolada may help too.

Eythyl Maltol is a sweetener and Flavor Art does have a truer peppermint flavor. When I want a mint mix like chocolate mint I use Creme De Mint it made a world of difference. If you have any of that you might try a few drops in your peppermint mix. The Flavor West Candy Cane is just as the name implies and is a good stand alone flavor. Taste is subjective just play around with it and see what you like best. Good luck with your mixing, vaping rocks.

I tried some TFA sweetener after reading some suggestions, discovered very quickly that 1ml is way to much for a 10 ml tester batch! Lol, like mainlining sugar! Am going to order some FA products and keep working on it!

FA may taste better and FW may be a better candy flavor, but 15% TFA should not be "really slight" flavor.
Shake that flavoring bottle before you use it, and try a tiny batch with your usual PG/VG but no nic. Just a hunch something is screwing up your results.

At lower concentrations (<1%) EM acts more like a flavor enhancer than a sweetener. Think of it sort of like salt for sweet flavors.
By itself Peppermint can be kind of one dimensional and a touch of Vanilla can provide a little "background" allowing the mint to come forward in the profile.

I like fa peppermint - 2% with fa vanilla classic-1% + 0.5% fa Fresh Cream and the tiniest touch of menthol: 1-3 drops per 15mls. I don't taste menthol in it if I get it right, but it "pops" the peppermint.

You could try this--it might be just what you're looking for:

HIC's Heart of Andes recipe: smooth vanilla-mint, like the center of Andes' Mints candy

2% FA Peppermint
1% FA Vanilla Bourbon
1% FA Vienna Cream
1% FA Fresh Cream
1% FA Marshmallow

Thanks so much for your reply, I took your advice and started from scratch. 70/30 pg/vg with 15% TFA peppermint. Everything cleaned and new wicks in my rba Still not much flavor, bumped it to 20% and still not much there! Added a drop or two of EM and my mix did get sweeter but not much peppermint! added a couple drops of Vanillian as Jax suggested and I can taste that and the EM and just slight taste of the Peppermint.
Is it possible to get a bad bottle of flavoring? I have ordered another bottle as well as a crap load of additional flavors and other vendors peppermint, Candy Kane etc. I will not let this whip me! LoL!!
I can drip a few drops of the juice I purchase on my RBA and its very tasty! Eliminates my taste buds anyway!
Shook everything very well, before and after mixing as well as prior to dripping!!

Thanks Jaaxx, tried them both and makes alot of sense to me to enhance the flavor, just can not replicate this local ejuice! My quest will continue!!

When adding a sweetener to my mix, will it hide the other flavors? kinda remove the sharpness of my peppermint?

Sweetener can kill a mix if you use too much, yes.
