Maraxus fried my batteries

I have a couple mech mods and decided to get another, i got a maraxus cuz it looked cool, i am using a .11ohm build if it means anything, but i use 25amp 18650 batteries, with a fresh charge i got 2 or 3 good puffs with the maraxus and it just stopped, i thought maybe the telescoping feature of the mod created a lot of voltage drop and my batteries had already died, so i put them on my charger (nitecore i4) and just the first light blinks and they don't charge? Please help, i don't know if i messed something up or if it's just a bad mod, but it killed 3 of my 4 batteries

It's a Bad Mod. I had one, beautiful thing it was. First time I used it worked perfect. Never more. Messed with it for months. Put it in a 65 ton press & made it shorter.

I have 2 2500mah 25amp lg batteries and 2 2500mah 25amp samsung batteries, they worked perfect in my steampunk and my smpl, how did i kill them?
Might be because Ohms law states your .11 build pulls 38A at 4.2v (fully charged batt)...
You stated your batts are only 25A.

25amps is it's nominal continuous discharge rate, not their maximum discharge rate, it should be somewhere around 40amp maximum discharge which would put it still safe, I've been vaping with these batteries for around 6 months no problems until the maraxus mod

First of all those are 20a batteries, and at .11 you are pulling 38amps with a freshly charged batt. Check this video to see if you're missing any parts like the plastic insulators. Also check to make sure your insulator around the contact pin is in place and the contact pin isn't bent or distorted somehow. Since you haven't posted any picts, these are only suggestions.

Also, this guy tests a shit load of batteries and has created a nice chart.

So you're saying your batts are
25A cont/40A pulse..still seems to me that 38A load is pushing it..
Also seen this from Kidney Puncher..no mention of going lower than a .15 build, and at your own risk, in RED!
oh well, I'm done here...

Either you drew too much current from the batteries thus increasing the internal resistance of the cell and making them unusable, or your switch and/or 510 has issues.

Assuming you have LG he2's and Samsung 25r's, (you never mentioned which model number) they are both mfg rated at 20a continuous and 25a pulse. Mileage and the size of one's balls may differ. :)

Is there any way to make it work? I don't wanna toss it but i don't wanna ruin my batteries
Your going to have to ask the smart people. I know if a Dog bites me twice it's time to find the Dog a new home. I buffed the PMMA coating off the threads, polished the brass parts, to no avail. Only time I have ever been screwed on a Mod. The seller didn't know it was a bad Mod so I leave it at that.

You might want to get one of these, they don't cost much & are real handy in vaping. Measure in Metric & U.S.A. Can tell you what size replacement tank glass you need. IMG_0088.JPG

Don't think the OP is looking for a replacement glass tank or a set of calipers. He's trying to figure out why he seems to be burning up batteries in his mech mod. Since he doesn't respond with picts or anything, I guess he's not that interested anyway. Not going to try and help anyone who doesn't want to be helped. unwatching thread

Ok wow lot of replies, i had to work and sleep first chance back on, anyways, i found that the maraxus floating 510 goes sideways when i push it in, causing a short circuit, my batteries are protected and i used the hot-wire trick to reset it and my batteries are fine, and since i only take .5-1 second hits the amp pulse on my batteries is fine with my low build, they never get hot, the ones i didn't put in the maraxus work and read fine on my multimeter, i don't have time to go through and reply to each one of you, some one said the maraxus had less voltage drop than my other mods, less drop than a smpl, go home, using kidney puncher as a reference for batteries, sure, if i bought my batteries online, my batteries and coil build are safe and compatible, i wanted to know what h happened to my batteries, nobody on this forum helped, you all said it was my coils, but if that was the case they would have fried along time ago, not the 5 minutes into a new mod that they did, this forum is garbage

I'm highly doubting this is the case. I push my Samsung past that sometimes. This will degrade the cell but not "kill" it.

Ok reading this, you sir are an arrogant douche, who came to ask for help, got it, yet fixed the issue on your own, and the forum (advice) is garbage?
The ECF welcomes you good sir.

No LG battery has a pulse rating, LG specify only a continuous.

Looks like Kidney puncher don't know the specs of their own products either... The "25" in a 25R 's model number indicates the capacity not the amp limit. 25R = 2500mAh, 20R = 2000 mAh, 30Q = 3000mAh etc.

Can't speak for the LG battery (if it's a 2500mAh it's an HE2 or HE4, 20A no pulse) but 38A won't kill a 25R. 38A continuously from 4.2V to 2.5V may cause damage from the over discharge and damage from the heat that generates, but vaping use at 38A will just give crap battery life.

Protected high drain IMRs? @Feefer erm.... No.

You must not have read all the replies, or you would have read, "Check this video to see if you're missing any parts like the plastic insulators", which obviously you are. If the contact pin on the mod cap moves sideways, then you are missing some parts.

You come over here and ask vague questions, post no picts, act like a battery know-it-all when it's obvious you don't know shit, then insult everyone trying to help you.... Good job
