Ordered a multimeter, much cheaper than I thought!

Hi people.

I needed to get a multimeter to test voltage of my battteries, and to do a few tests on my mech.

A model I seen used a lot in videos, I found on ebay. It was new, buy it now, from a UK seller.

It was only £4.45. I thought I was going to have to pay over £20 for one, thats why I was holding off of getting one.

It appears good quality, and its only to check voltage, so think I bagged a good deal there, a lot cheaper than I thought.

I can finally find out if I am pulling my batteries at the right time in my mech, and see the full charged voltage.

I also ordered 10 drip tips for my subtanks, as I already lost the black one, luckily my fiancee is using a green tip so I'm using the Silver one as I actually liked the drip tip. I got 5 glow in the dark white drip tips, and 5 black for about £2 as well.

I also ordered my elderly neighbour a cree torch as he needed a new one, for just £4.49.

I think today I have had a bargain day .

I just realised that most the multimeters come with a 10A port, could I use that to check amp rating on batteries or does it not work like that?

ahh fair enough, I just thought it was for higher amperage testing. At least I got the multimeter though, and with my mech, so far I have got through 2 lemo tanks on one battery and it is still producing a nice amount of vapour, 0.6 Ohm. At least I know I can get 2 tanks out of it. I think now will be a good time to pull the battery for a fresh one.

An amp rating is what the manufacturer decides is safe for a cell. You can't measure it and get a number on a screen. You can plot a graph of voltage over time/discharged mAh and see if a cell can handle a certain amp draw, but amp limits aren't measurable with a meter.

Git my multi meter from Aldi, £6. Works great.

No the 10A is for DC circuits so it would work. But as NemesisVaper said it's meant to measure amperage going through a circuit...that's different than the amp rating of a battery. In other words you can measure a circuit and see that it's got 10A going through it but it doesn't tell you anything about how the battery feels about the 10A.
